If @essendonfc want to become Essendon again, they must get rid of the “give up” who leaks out club information to journalists eg. Caroline Wilson, before any meetings take place. Someone who is currently working there, has an agenda against James Hird returning to the club.

Let me see if I got this right: 1. Didn't pick the best assistant 2. Didn't ease pressure from the loud section who think Hird deserves a chance at redemption 3. Picked a coach embroiled in a major scandal 4. Picked presidents mate for the job Disaster written all over it. 😮‍💨

How the F… does James Hird not get told by @essendonfc that he wasn’t the successful candidate as the clubs next coach. For him to find out through the media is terribly disrespectful for the man that is rated number 3 behind Dick Reynolds & John Coleman in the club’s history.

Jaymie Graham has run a close second for at least two senior coaching jobs, McVeigh has never been seriously considered for any. Guess which one we picked. Slow clap.

Just a little reminder of your job when you go onto a football club board. Your sole sworn purpose is to represent the members of that football club. When 80% of the members stand as one and want the board to do something, you do it! Particularly when doing so will benefit the entire club. It would fulfil one of the most critical objectives of all, uniting the entire fan base, increasing revenue and memberships, and most importantly, making supporters feel proud and reconnected with their football club again. He's also by far the best coach! I’m astounded that we are now waiting and find ourselves in this situation. The only explanation I can come up with is that some directors are allowing concerns and influences to cloud their judgement that, frankly, shouldn’t matter and are irrelevant to the bigger picture! We finally have the opportunity to do what we should have done four years ago and appoint James Hird. There is no such thing as a “this will appease the fan base” option. If you weren’t seriously considering Hird for the job, why take him this far and allow the supporters to believe he was a genuine chance, while simultaneously cutting out 80% of the prospective applicants? If Hird isn’t the man, then why on earth has this process unfolded this way? This is about much more than appointing a coach. It is about reconnecting the football club with its members, restoring pride and belief, and giving the entire organisation a genuine opportunity to move forward together. ❤️🖤👊 #bringbackhird #godons @essendonfc

I really find it quite pathetic that prospective coaches are being “scared away” from the process because James Hird has applied and they are exerting pressure for the club to not interview him so these gutless wonders can have a free run. Make no mistake the perceived “top liners” will NOT be entering the process unless they have been given an undertaking they will get the job. They will not just enter the “process” and hope to win because if they lose their brand is significantly diminished. James is happy to go head to head with anyone and let the club decide, unfortunately the other pussies want a more guaranteed outcome. If I was Essendon I’d welcome their application, give no guarantees and see how the interview process pans out. If they ask if Hird is going to get the nod I’d just tell them “If James Hird is the best candidate through the process of course he will…..are you doubting your credentials against his? If so you’re probably not the right person for the gig”.

What is all of this James Hird paranoia about? Personally I’d select him immediately. He’s an outstanding candidate with great experience and knowledge. Hinkley wouldn’t compete with Hird that’s why he’s taking his precious stance. Hinkley and Simpson are trying to manipulate the process. Just make a decision…..one is yes I’m in the other is no I’m not. You can’t have it both ways by saying I’ll nominate if you delete Hirds application. I’m a Hird fan. Couldn’t give a stuff about the past (which is a whole suspicious story in itself by AFL) I’m only interested in the very best person to lift the club out of the mire and return it to respect and success - and that’s James Hird.
