I'm sorry we never got a chance to meet, but getting this note from Dolly really had a an impact on me. She definitely didn't have to take the time to do it. Even for a kid who mostly listened to rap music, she was an icon. A superstar in every sense. Rest easy Dolly. And thank you for the kind words.

Manager: Where are you going?
Employee: Road closed. Had to take a detour.
Manager: Are you texting while driving?!
Employee: No, it’s dictating. Reads it back to me.
Manager: You’re supposed to be on 470. You’re behind schedule.
Employee: I know. The road’s closed. There are signs and a barrier.
Manager: Google Maps says it’s open. That’s your designated route.
Employee: Google Maps is wrong.
Manager: I’m going to need you to turn around and take the correct route.
Employee: I’m not driving through a closed road.
Manager: Can you at least check what’s causing the closure?
Employee: Stop texting me. I’m driving.

Boss: We are not allowed to work-from-home.
Employee: Okay.
Boss: The client texted you at 9pm yesterday. Why did you not respond?
Employee: We are not allowed to work-from-home.

Boss: You're staying late on Thursday, correct?
Employee: Yes, I've arranged to stay late so I can assist with a launch.
Boss: Good, and I'm setting up a meeting at 5 PM on Friday, but your schedule says you aren't available.
Employee: I will be ending work at 2 o'clock on Friday.
Boss: What? Why?
Employee: Because I work a 40-hour work week, and since overtime isn't available, I'll just take the extra hours that I'm working on Thursday and take them off my day on Friday so it evens out.
Boss: So you're telling me you're not just working late on Thursday because you're passionate about this project?
Employee: I do care about this project, but I will not be donating my personal time to this company for free.
Boss: (Silence)

If the Second Amendment does not apply to this exact kind of moment, what do people think it is for?
A citizen can lawfully carry, see masked federal agents beating someone in public, move toward the scene to help, and then get erased with a hail of bullets because “he had a gun.”
That excuse is an insult in a country where possession is legal by design, where the whole point is that the public never becomes a disarmed audience watching state power operate with impunity.
I’m not interested in arguing frame-by-frame footage. I’m interested in the principle that a free people cannot accept a standard where lawful carry becomes a death sentence the second authority feels threatened.
If that is the standard, then the 2nd Amendment has been reduced to a vibe. The founders did not write it so Republicans could do militia cosplay on weekends.

If I call out someone a different color than me, I’m racist. If I call out someone a different gender than me, I’m misogynist. If I call out someone that’s LBGTQ, I’m homophobic. If I call out someone that’s liberal, I’m a “Trump supporting MAGA”. If I call out someone that’s conservative, I’m a “liberal snowflake”.
Or… It doesn’t matter your race, gender, sexuality, or politics and you’re just an a*shole that deserves to be called out. I’m rated “E” for everyone and accountability isn’t persecution.

I once saw a man lose everything job gone, savings gone, wife packing her bags.
But what shocked me wasn’t the loss. It was how quiet he stayed.
No complaints. No pity. No drama.
He just rebuilt himself from the ground up, piece by piece.
Today he’s back on top. New job, new wife, new purpose.
Men don’t get to cry on the internet we fix our lives in silence. And that silence creates monsters.
Whatever you’re going through now, rebuild silently. Come back loudly.

This year I couldn’t make it back to my family in Chicago for Thanksgiving, so I’ll be spending it solo in SoCal unless someone wants to adopt me for a day. 😉
If anyone in the Orange County area has an extra seat at their table and wouldn’t mind a friendly stranger joining, I’d be very grateful. I promise not to show up empty handed and bring a dessert/wine, I’m more than happy to chip in for groceries, and I’m a pro at dishes and cleanup afterward. No pressure at all just thought I’d swallow my pride a little and shoot my shot.
Either way, I love all of you and wish you and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving! God bless!

An editor's note from the Boston Globe. trib.al/eLyNLqM

ALT An editor's note from the Boston Globe: A significant error was made in a headline on a story in Friday’s print sports section about Algerian boxer Imane Khelif incorrectly describing her as transgender. She is not. Additionally, our initial correction of this error neglected to note that she was born female. We recognize the magnitude of this mistake and have corrected it in the epaper, the electronic version of the printed Globe. This editing lapse is regretful and unacceptable and we apologize to Khelif, to Associated Press writer Greg Beacham, and to you, our readers.

Ultimately there’s just a group of weirdos who are so transphobic that it even makes them afraid of some biological women.
Go to therapy dorks

Imane Khelif was literally born a female what are yall on about

The faux outrage era is so cringe. People now pretending to be mad that a woman beat another woman in Olympic boxing because some right wing weirdos are falsely claiming one boxer is “trans” which is something that can be disproven by anyone with a working brain who can read at a first grade level
You guys are fucking weirdos

“The only reason we know Chino XL is because Tupac said his name on “Hit ‘Em Up”
Translation: “I don’t know shit about HipHop, I’m just a casual rap fan who listens to what the radio tells me to listen to, I don’t know how to dig for music or think for myself”
Inspector Ratchet retweeted
Imane Khelif should sue every single account and outlet saying she is trans.
Assholes are putting her life at risk, it is illegal in her country to be trans. The continuance of the blatant trans lie continues unfettered on Twitter.

Khelif is not a transgender athlete. She is a female, born a female and simply has a disorder of sex development (DSD) that results in XY chromosomes and higher testosterone levels similar to those of male athletes.
Now, I'm not qualified to be making judgment calls on these things... but i've seen a lot of falsehoods floating out around today about this one.
