I have a player who's pretty new to softball and usually bats near the bottom of the order. Last game I put her leadoff.
Watching her spot her name on the lineup and sprint over to tell her parents she was batting first, was priceless.
Before your rec season ends, find a way to give each player a moment like that.
It was around this time each year my Grandma would hand me the Sears Wish Book to circle what I wanted for Christmas.
These books were about 800 pages. You’d have to get through all the kitchenware and clothes, but once you hit the toys and video games, it was an awesome feeling.
I try to recreate that feeling with my kids, but it’s not happening (photo in next post).
I've been exploring @bot this week, wondered how someone who doesn't own a business would benefit from the use. In just a few days I've created for Grok Bots, each with different names:
Grunt takes care of all the stuff I want to do but don't have the time for, or don't want to. For example, cleaning up an email box I stopped using, but forwarding me emails that look like they need my attention. Now I don't have to check that box anymore.
Penny is connected to my finances and gives me updates on how I'm working within my budget and helps me plan for the months and years ahead.
Scopey is taking all my business ideas and helping me run analytics on market saturation and is a true collaborative bot that I can bounce ideas off of.
Tiffy is getting me on track with social media, where to post my articles, a topic calendar, and is helping me take what interests me and suggesting topics to develop on (I do all the writing).
I just wish my corporate job allowed this type of integration. We're stuck with Copilot and nothing I've tried works nearly as seamless and collaborative at Grok Bot.

Can’t imagine starting up my XBOX in November 2001 thinking I’d ever be setting the time and date for it in 2026.
This is a pretty significant day for gaming.
Your discs just got a digital upgrade today! 💿
Now, all players can experience the benefits of digital with most XBOX Series X and XBOX One physical discs: xbx.lv/4hU38vu
I don’t usually read or enjoy these types of lists, but I can say from experience that Zayan is spot on — even if it’s probably AI.
My 12 year old daughter went from being a goofy little daddy’s girl to in her room FaceTiming with her friends seemingly overnight.
Once your youngest becomes not so little anymore it hits you hard when you sit and realize, “Damn, I won’t ever have a baby or toddler again.” It does for me at least.
A very polished Special Event put on by @Apple today -- as expected.
Will definitely be upgrading to the iPhone 18 Pro. The camera itself is worth the price. Love that Apple is introducing "Reference Images" that act as a digital negative for a photo so someone can prove that the original photo is theirs; which will also help when someone thinks the photo is AI.
iPhone Duo looks much better than the AI images and speculation that floated around, but will probably give it some time to see how the release goes.
Series 12 Watch and AirPods 5 also look like substantial upgrades, especially if you're on models from 3+ years ago.

USC vs San Jose State, season opener on Sep 5, 2009. 90 degrees, 12:30p kickoff, attendance was 84,325.
Today’s attendance was announced as 51,144; which we know was much lower than that.
Fans blame the heat and the fact SC was playing SJSU. But maybe it has more to do with success. USC was 102-26 from 2000-2009. They are 45-27 since 2020.
2009 had the same opponent and similar weather conditions, what’s changed? Fans pushed through the heat before.
