A few weeks ago, we rebranded ScoutdAI as @SomerledGroup I have not properly shared the news in X until now.
The change reflects how much the business has developed since we started. Our original focus was on helping football clubs identify talent, assess suitability and make better recruitment decisions. That remains at the centre of what we do, but the scope of the opportunity is growing quickly.
We are now working with more teams, developing opportunities with leagues in Europe and the United States, and continuing to expand the ways our intelligence can support the wider football industry.
That includes the development of our youth intelligence hub, helping identify emerging talent earlier, as well as new ways to support agencies with player identification, evaluation and market intelligence.
There is a lot happening behind the scenes, and we will be announcing some exciting new partnerships over the coming weeks as @SomerledGroup continues to grow and scale.
I am incredibly proud of the team and the progress we have made. We are still at an early stage, but the direction of the business has never been clearer.

brilliant seeing Steve McClaren speaking on @SomerledGroup supporting their recruitment team with our proprietary models and Club DNA analysis.
that’s the goal: building models that speak the language coaches already use.

Somerled Group is pleased to announce a partnership with @RotherhamUnited, with the club adopting our AI-powered football intelligence platform to support player recruitment.
The partnership gives Rotherham’s recruitment team access to our proprietary talent identification models, natural language player search and Club DNA analysis, helping staff identify and assess players against the club’s playing identity and recruitment priorities.
Our platform brings together data across more than 60 competitions, allowing recruitment teams to describe the player they need, identify relevant targets and investigate how those players could fit their team. It supports the expertise of recruitment staff by making complex information easier to interrogate and apply to live decisions.
In the accompanying video, Steve McClaren and Rob Scott discuss the partnership and how Somerled can support Rotherham’s approach to player recruitment.
Rotherham joins a growing number of clubs working with Somerled across Europe and the United States, using our intelligence to support player identification, assessment and recruitment.
We’re immensely proud here at @SomerledGroup to have partnered with @RotherhamUnited. Having the opportunity to work with Steve McClaren, Rob Scott and the team at the Millers is something we’re really excited about, and it was a pleasure to join them for this video.
We have a tremendous team behind our platform, bringing together expertise in football, data science and technology. I’m incredibly proud of the software they’ve built and the thought that goes into making it useful for the people making recruitment decisions every day.
Through our partnership with @StatsPerform, we use Opta and Opta Vision data to build an end-to-end picture of player performance, covering on-ball events, tracking, physical outputs and movement off the ball. That depth of data feeds our own proprietary models, allowing us to explore how a player performs within a system and whether they have the attributes to succeed in another.
Our Club DNA modelling is a huge part of that. We model how a club wants to play, the demands of its system and what it needs from each position, then assess players against those requirements. Every player receives a score specific to that club, helping recruitment teams uncover talent whose qualities could be particularly valuable in their environment.
Combined with AI that understands football language, it means staff can describe exactly what they’re looking for and quickly explore relevant players, with the evidence to understand why they’ve been identified. That ability to turn a football question into something a club can act on is what makes this so exciting for me.
We’re already seeing clubs across Europe and the US use @SomerledGroup to identify and sign players. Seeing our work influence those decisions makes everything that has gone into building this business feel worthwhile.
A huge thank you to Steve, Rob and everyone at @RotherhamUnited for their confidence in us. There’s some very exciting work happening behind the scenes and plenty more to share over the coming months.

Thanks to Kieran & Kevin for having me on Price of Football. This is my attempt at explaining the GBE & ESC situation, which is the gateway for non-domestic recruitment in football.

How do you sign a player from Spain, Mexico or Japan and satisfy the UK immigration rules after Brexit? We didn’t know at @POF_POD so we asked expert @andywatsonsport to tell us and he was great.

Justin Janssen is a good example of why we're so excited about what we’re at Somerled Group!
We screened 400 defensive midfielders, and the 20-year-old at FC Nordsjaelland stood out for his combination of ball recovery, security in possession and willingness to play forward.
Franculino Djú is a player. Trabzonspor just got themselves one of the most emphatic finishers in Europe.
Wrapped up our first Deadline Day at @SomerledGroup, working right up until the final minutes (and beyond). Continuing work with our US friends towards the next imminent deadline!

Last season he made a total of 34 appearances, scoring 8 and assisting 7 goals. He was Viborg FF's leading goal-scorer.
Heartbreak for England. Final 4 is still a brilliant effort. You can tell the lads gave it everything they had.
Say what you want about Argentina but they were relentless in their pursuit of victory. Congratulations and good luck in the final.
Proud to be an England fan 🏴🦁
