Outrageous that the Chinese govt sentenced #HongKong bookseller & Swedish citizen #GuiMinhai to 10 yrs in prison on bogus espionage charges. He was disappeared from his home in Thailand 5 yrs ago. The Chinese govt can’t be allowed to act w/ impunity. Where is the int'l response?

Swedish Gui Minhai sentenced to 10 years in prison for "providing intelligence" overseas. Sweden had no access to the trial nor possibility to provide consular support. As China claims to respect rule of law and human rights, he must be released immediately and unconditionally.

I am calling on the Government to take an active approach by adopting today's Bill. It is time to do what we should have done during the Handover. If we as a country are serious about this new era of “Global Britain”, this is our chance to prove it. #HongKong

Worrying reports that a PEACEFUL young female demonstrator has been arrested outside @UKinHongKong for sticking up posters.
It seems as if arrest happened on the “grey bricks” normally considered Consulate territory.
Needs urgent attention @DominicRaab
