Behind the lightning mansion on the right is the sunny path.
Xwitter for indie devs as of recent it seems.

I'm getting really tired of the AI talk. Is anyone making games interested in game design? Aesthetics? Does anyone think they have anything to learn? I know I do.

Hot take: “Made by a human” may eventually become a premium label.

Dash Dot Die by @IronIntOfficial - Moody, forbidding puzzle / horror game where you escape death traps using observation and Morse code. - Tense, but not outright terrifying (I really hope nothing jumps out at me). - Solo dev. Demo available. Link in reply. This is a very cool concept, and I really enjoyed the demo (I've always wanted to learn Morse code). As far as the demo goes it *seems* like a puzzle game with atmosphere, as opposed to a game where things chase you around. The game does a good job of making you *feel* like something's going to come get you though. And I've been fooled before (I'm looking at you The Vanishing of Ethan Carter...)

I really don't get this tactic. I'm not making a political statement here (I wonder whether you could accurately guess what I think about politics, in fact). But, it should be obvious that belittling and mocking edgybois does not cause them to comply. Edgybois are more like to _actively harm their own interests to avoid compliance_ than they are to comply when mocked and belittled. This is in the nature of the internet troll. This seems so obvious to me that I sometimes wonder if this is an intentional attempt at sabotage.
It's time to grow up and vote for the Republican Party this November. Nobody cares about how much of an intellectual edgyboi you are.

RT @itemgatestudios: I've got a new Kickstarter project page up now, so if you're willing to give it a follow, that would be amazing! http…

Miscreant by @itemgatestudios - Thief meets Harry Potter meets Banjo-Kazooie (play the demo you'll see what I mean). - Snoop around a magic school and use items to solve puzzles and find secrets. - Get chased by an animate mop. - Catch mice made of licorice. Link in reply. The demo is very early (the dev calls it a playtest), so it has some rough edges and there's clearly a lot to be done. But don't let that stop you! Once it clicked for me, I was hooked. It has a nice, relaxed pace. The secrets are cleverly hidden. The aesthetic is charming and light hearted. I'm eager to see where this one goes.

Many people saying "Oh yeah, I use AI for coding my game" and here I am building pathing systems out of my own sweat and tears. I'm not judging the practice, but when I think about using AI to code I dread the distance it would put between me and the inner workings of my game.

I've told this story before: when I saw the overpopulation episode I went to my father, literally in tears, and said "Captain Planet says there are too many people, does that mean I shouldn't have been born?" And my father said: "No, it means Ted Turner is an asshole."
As a kid, I thought it was just about kids w/superpowers stopping obviously evil monsters destroying the environment Years later, you see a clip from when show where they tell you to only have a small family because too many children leads to overpopulation Then you realize it was always just subtle brainwashing

Honored to report that I'm going to be part of this panel where I'll get a chance to share how my tabletop RPG experience has influenced my design work, particularly on Barony. If you're going to be in the Portland area for @RetroGamingExpo come see me!
We’ll be at @RetroGamingExpo next month and this time we invited some friends. I’m hosting a panel with @StirringDragon, @FlintDille, @josiahcolborn, and Michael Cranford to talk about game design and storytelling in RPGs. Hope to you there!

The government has and is stealing my money. I am resigned to it. I do not want the government to steal money from my children and my friends' children so I can recover some of that loss. That would literally be asking a thief to pay me back by robbing someone else.
If social security does go bust, it’s going to be younger Gen X and Millennials who really take it on the chin - having paid in large sums over most or all of their working lives, only to get nothing.
