Today, something completely unexpected and wonderful happened to me in Kyiv! 😁🇺🇦
I randomly met Johnny @JohnnyFDK , an American who lives in Kyiv and runs a blog documenting his life in Ukraine and our everyday reality during the war.
It was a real pleasure and an honor to meet him, have a conversation, ask him a few questions, and share a little about myself, my return to Ukraine, and what is happening in Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, and Nikopol.
We talked about cities and communities constantly living under the threat of Russian attacks. About guided aerial bombs, FPV drones, attacks on civilians, and the stories of people whose suffering rarely makes international headlines.
And Johnny even recorded some of my comments for his blog! So you might soon see me on his YouTube channel! 😁
I apologize in advance for my broken English! ☠️😂 This encounter was so unexpected that I was completely unprepared for the experience!
I also invited Johnny to travel with me to these regions, to see firsthand what is happening there and help tell the world about it.
But his response genuinely touched me.
He told me that he simply wants to live in Ukraine. That his blog isn’t about becoming famous.
And you know what? Hearing that from someone who came from another country and chose Ukraine as his home was incredibly moving. ❤️
Of course, we also talked about Donald Trump. Johnny asked me to comment on his politics, and, as usual, I didn’t exactly choose diplomatic language. 😂
I said what I thought about him, including the scandals and allegations surrounding him, and asked a simple question: HOW THE HELL DID THIS MAN BECOME PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES?!
AND I ALSO WANT TO REACH OUT TO INTERNATIONAL JOURNALISTS, DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKERS, AND BLOGGERS!

A horrific Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. A “shahed” struck people directly – in a park near an ordinary café. Pure atrocity. Six people were killed, including children. A little girl was killed in a stroller – her name was Angelina, she was just over a year old, born in August 2025… Her mother’s name was Inna. She died in the hospital… Another girl who was killed was 11 years old. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 14 people were injured, including six more children.
I am grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine under these circumstances and helps us shoot down “shaheds,” shoot down missiles, and stop Russian assaults. These are horrific photos, but behind them are shattered lives and the truth about this war. Lives must be protected. Ukraine needs air defense. You can't think about making money with Russia as long as it continues its asinine war. We ask that sanctions on Russia stay in place as long as the killings continue. We ask America to be strong, and we ask it to apply the Lindsey Graham law. We ask Europe to continue its support. We ask that everything possible be done to bring peace and guarantee security. Ukraine wants peace. It is Russia that has insisted on continuing the killing all this time. The world has enough strength to stop the war. That strength must finally be used – against the murderers.
