Obviously this situation with Game 6 isn't really great for anyone involved. I wonder if they considered playing the Hawks game at Gateway Arena that night. Could have been a huge PR win for them, figure out a way to get some of the money from the Dream game back to them.

After a weekend of nonstop frantic discussions and negotiation, Game 6 of the WNBA Finals will be played Thursday at 12:30 pm at 17,000-seat State Farm Arena in Atlanta, sources told ESPN. The Atlanta Hawks-Cleveland Cavaliers game that night will move back to 8 pm to accommodate the doubleheader, just as the Hawks did for Game 4. This allows a potential Game 7 to remain scheduled for Halloween at Chase Center in San Francisco. All three Finals games in Atlanta have required hurried adjustments to the schedule at State Farm Arena. It took collective efforts from the WNBA, NBA, the Hawks, State Farm Arena, Dream, Valkyries and broadcast partners to figure out the best course of action again. By moving the game earlier in the day, the WNBA avoided a scenario where a potential championship game was played inside the Dream’s home arena, the 3,500 seat Gateway Center. The other option under strong consideration was moving Game 6 to an open date at State Farm Arena on Friday and Game 7 to an open date at Chase Center on Tuesday, November 3.

The best way out of this for USC (and other similar schools who can’t afford these ridiculous buyouts) is just to threaten to cut off the revenue sharing and NIL support thus making it impossible for the coach to succeed there. Want the $ bad enough to tank your career? Or do you want to go somewhere else and restart your clock.

A couple of thoughts on the reported 5 years and $55 million left on Lincoln Riley’s USC contract. - It’s absurd USC would have a buyout number larger than that but they’ve made worse decisions. - I could see Riley leaving if another school (i.e. Baylor) matched that figure.

Tennessee had their annual road loss to a bottom tier SEC program. It sucks but is what it is. Officials sucked, but that’s expected on the road. And we were sloppy and deserved some of them. More alarmed by GMac’s mind melting on the 4th down. With that being said, go 4-0

The penalties that took touchdowns off the board for Tennessee all seemed to be correct. But the Vols have some fair grievances with some no calls between this play and the “tipped pass” non pass interference.
