Zimbabwe is rising, and the numbers now confirm it. As of October 2026, according to the IMF, Zimbabwe is ranked the 14th largest economy in Africa with a GDP of $65.92 billion. In the same year, our economy grew by 5%, with a projected 3.5% growth in 2027 despite the El Niño challenge. This is not by chance, it is the result of deliberate and disciplined economic management.
This progress is a direct dividend of the fiscal discipline restored under the Second Republic. Under the visionary and steady leadership of President E.D. Mnangagwa, Zimbabwe has moved from deficits to surpluses, from volatility to stability, and from uncertainty to confidence. Budgetary order, a stable currency, controlled inflation and renewed investor confidence are now driving real, productive growth across all sectors.
What we are witnessing is Vision 2030 in motion. Zimbabwe is no longer on the sidelines; we are now counted among Africa's top economies and we are outperforming many traditional giants. This is the Second Republic delivering results for its people, and with unity and continued hard work, we will keep building the prosperous Zimbabwe we all want.

H.E. President @edmnangagwa addresses the 3rd Russia-Africa Summit plenary in Moscow. He said Zimbabwe is committed to a multipolar world based on mutual respect, fairness and equality in which countries pivot towards win-win cooperation.
Acknowledging Russia’s role in the struggle for the liberation of Africa, the President said it is now time to turn the historical bond into tangibles for the people.
The emphasis at the summit is on value addition and not raw exports from Africa and the President said Zimbabwe is not waiting - “… we are moving decisively to create value for our minerals through value addition and beneficiation. And we are resolute in our pursuit of a world order built on mutual respect, equality and fairness"
The President challenged Zimbabwean and Russian institutions to move from signing to implementing: “The two Governments have given this friendship political direction. It now falls to institutions... to give practical expression... Our collective efforts must benefit the economies and have a tangible impact on the daily lives of our citizens". The President proposed a joint technical working group between PSB Bank, Ministry of Finance and RBZ.
The President highlighted that over 1000 Zimbabweans are studying in Russia in medicine, natural sciences, nuclear science, space fields, calling them a national investment for modernization
The plenary is co-chaired by President Vladimir Putin and AU Chair, Burundian President Evariste Ndayishimiye.
This is common practice in diplomatic etiquette and international relations optics. Even at UN, each willing head of state gets to make a walk to greet the UN SG as the host.
In reciprocal diplomatic etiquette, foreign diplomats “bow” before the hosting head of State when they present their credentials. African heads of State get to have even Western diplomats bow before them.
Just as you bow upon entering a court in session! Some bit of reading and humility to understand diplomatic etiquette and IR will help you Advocate. Musaita muziva zvose!
🔸Like little schoolboys trying to walk straight and give a perfect handshake to impress the headmaster.
Sometimes I feel like we failed to learn the right lessons from colonialism. Always operating on their terms. Always groveling for a photo op. Always fawning over them for a handshake or a drop of attention. Always being made to jump at their command. What a shame.
We need new leaders.🇿🇼

A New Economic Imperatives Era: President Mnangagwa Calls for Dynamic Action at 3rd Russia-Africa Summit
Addressing world leaders and delegates at the plenary session of the 3rd Russia-Africa Summit, His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa reaffirmed Zimbabwe’s steadfast commitment to an equitable, multipolar global order anchored in sovereignty, fairness, and win-win international cooperation.
Co-chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin and African Union Chairperson, President Évariste Ndayishimiye of Burundi, the high-level forum focused sharply on trade, economic self-reliance, and strategic partnerships.
Key Highlights & Strategic Imperatives
🔶️Honoring Shared History Through Economic Tangibles
Expressing profound gratitude for Russia’s historic support during Africa’s liberation struggles, President Mnangagwa emphasized that solidarity must now translate into concrete, socio-economic prosperity.
"It is now time to turn this historic bond into tangible, life-changing outcomes for our people."
🔶️Decisive Shift from Raw Mineral Exports to Value Addition
In alignment with the summit's central theme, the President underscored Zimbabwe’s refusal to remain a mere exporter of raw commodities. Highlighting national industrialization initiatives, he stated that Zimbabwe is taking bold, decisive steps toward in-country mineral beneficiation and local value addition.
🔶️A Call to Action: Bridging Agreements and Implementation
Urging institutions in both nations to move beyond symbolic diplomacy, President Mnangagwa called for the immediate, practical execution of existing bilateral agreements. To accelerate financial cooperation, he proposed establishing a joint technical working group comprising Russia's PSB Bank, Zimbabwe's Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, and the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ).
"The two Governments have set the political direction; it now falls upon our institutions to give practical expression to this partnership so that our collective efforts yield measurable economic impacts."
🔶️ Investing in Human Capital and Future-Facing Technologies
Highlighting human resource development as a cornerstone of national modernization, the President celebrated the more than 1,000 Zimbabwean students currently pursuing advanced disciplines in Russia—including medicine, natural sciences, nuclear technology, and space sciences—describing them as a critical investment in the nation's technological future.

Today, at the 3rd Russia-Africa Summit plenary session in Moscow, I called upon our great continent to wake up to its immense potential. We are blessed with vast natural resources, the world’s youngest and most energetic population, and a rapidly expanding market. It is time to fully leverage these assets to drive our own development and secure economic independence.
Drawing lessons from our partners like Russia, Africa must move away from over-reliance and instead build resilient, self-sustaining economies. Crucial to this economic transformation is stronger regional integration and the robust development of global value chains. By prioritizing intra-African trade, we can seamlessly connect our markets and strengthen our collective participation in international trade.
Zimbabwe and Africa are ready to innovate, integrate, industrialize, and claim our rightful place on the global stage.

With utmost respect Senior Counsel, please don’t behave like a half baked lawyer. You should not allow your political hostility against @HonSakupwanyaK cloud your judgement.
As your juniors at law, we expect you to behave like a senior not like gweta rekutemu!
True true. Its very disturbing to see a senior lawyer behaving like a bogus lawyer!
You are jumping the gun and going ballistic on social media with material that has not been independently authenticated, especially in this era of artificial intelligence. In legal terms, you are reaching a verdict before the evidence has been properly tested and before the evidentiary threshold has been met. If there were any truth to such an audio, the proper course would surely have been to lodge a formal complaint with the premier league authorities and let them referee the matter. To me, the audio sounds like a skit, more pantomime than probative evidence, and publishing it unverified risks being an own goal.
The usual political malcontents who think politics dzinotambwa pasocial media are also making the same mistake of thinking football is played on social media. Hence they are making and amplyifing baseless allegations against @ScottlandFC of match-fixing. As it is in politics, so it is in football for political malcontents: kuruza kwega kwega!

In this era of AI and given that the identity, authenticity and veracity of the parties in the so-called match fixing audio are yet to be independently verified by responsible PSL authorities, it is totally absurd to make conclusions.
Political detractors embittered by @HonSakupwanyaK are jumping into conclusions before due process. Not surprising as this is the modus operandi of political losers!
Given that Mabviravira @ScottlandFC plays better football than @capsunitedfczw and is poised kubvurabvura Caps United, there is no basis for Scottland FC to engage in match fixing.
Allegations of match fixing are therefore fiction by detractors of @ScottlandFC who sought to set the agenda so that panobvurwa bvurwa Caps United neScottland FC they attribute it to match fixing rather than merited win.
