Half a million Palestinians have been cut off from World Food Programme food assistance. Hundreds of thousands of people in Gaza are living without a meal, as famine knocks on the doors of markets whose shelves stand empty. But our team decided not to stand idly by while our people go hungry. We lit the fire, prepared food, and distributed it to displaced families exhausted by war and burdened by displacement, families who no longer know how they will provide food for their children, just like children everywhere else in the world deserve to have. We will keep trying for as long as we can. We will continue lighting the fires in our cooking pots and reaching out to those in need, because hunger cannot wait, and human dignity begins with the right to food.
