At least three Chinese firms have cut their ties with the French football star Kylian Mbappe, after he apparently described Chairman Mao as a Chinese dictator. In a clip from a French online talk show - Mbappe is shown referring to a meme which imposed his face on Mao's body. China's foreign affairs ministry said "words and actions that hurt the feelings of the Chinese people will naturally be met with opposition".
