Too many Democrats are thinking of El-Sayed as just a number. Nothing else. I guess they haven't paid attention over the last ten years what can happen when you find ways to justify the unconscionable. All it took was a number, one open Supreme Court nomination, to justify looking the other way, and it changed the heart and soul of a political party.
So be careful Democrats, I'm speaking from experience. You overlook the baggage to justify a number, that baggage could end up defining your party.

All Haley Stevens has to do is apologize, rescind the endorsement, get a Nazi tattoo, abuse a spouse or partner, masturbate in a portapotty, and publicly justify 9/11, then this will all be water under the bridge.

I’m gonna say something you won’t like
Haley Stevens is just like Liz Cheney
She is putting country and honesty over party. She is saying no to vitriolic hate.
And like Cheney, it will end her career and get her death threats.

Widening the Overton Window to allow antisemitism into mainstream political coalitions is a bigger existential threat to democracy than a term-limited snake oil salesman who fake bakes too much.

my friend works at a Spirit Halloween and he told me they are getting flooded with parents at their wits end with kids demanding Digger costumes.
they are loaded up with untouched Spider-Man and K-Pop Demon Hunter costumes; every kid is screaming they want to be Digger Rockwell.

There's basically no market for honest commentary. As soon as you get big, even if you start doing honest commentary, then the incentive to become audience captured is just piles of money.
And the cost is what? Some integrity? Who cares?
Bulwark, never-Trump Republicans could easily be making the case that Democrats are really bad on specific policy areas, but that it's important to elect them for the time being so that we can put an end to the Trump era. But because of their audience, they can't consistently share a message bashing Democrats on policy. That's not what people who want to vote for Democrats want to hear.
Abdul again refuses to condemn the content of the ad, he only mentions that he didn't pay for it.
El-Sayed campaign statement: "This ad is not affiliated in any way with the Abdul for Senate campaign. Abdul is focused on pushing back against Trump’s agenda that is raising prices for Michiganders. No one speaks for Abdul but himself and his campaign." #MISEN

When El-Sayed doesn’t disavow Cenk’s antisemitism-on-steroids ad, I hope Michigan voters are paying attention. Bc this is the sort of thing that gets Jews attacked and killed.
New low for normalized Jew-hate in the American Democratic Party. Very sad:
Painting your political opponents as puppets of Jews, as this El-Sayed ad does, and as crazed baby-killers and money-grubbing villains who are the root cause of every bad thing not just in the world, but in your life—from wars to the price of eggs to the reason you can’t have free healthcare—is not just low-grade Jew-hate. It’s pure Third Reich stuff, translated directly from the original German.
Do you remember when Jewish Democrats in Michigan explained that they would vote for El-Sayed despite his open disdain for Jews, since there are many other important issues they need him to fight for? That anything was worth it to “defeat MAGA”?
Well, here’s El-Sayed’s answer to them: Don’t worry, all those issues we agree on, like healthcare, inflation, and climate change, I’m going to make them about Jews too! I will tell the public that the Jews are the reason they can’t have those things.

El-Sayed now has the distinction of utilizing two of the most prominent antisemitic podcasters as surrogates -- on the far left and far right:

I am a Democrat. I very much hope the Democrats take majorities in both houses of Congress and am actively supporting many Democratic candidates.
I believe we can win majorities in Congress by supporting patriotic Democratic candidates and opposing anti-American bigots like Abdul El-Sayed.
How can we Democrats ask swing voters to support us if we can’t articulate what we are for and what we will not stand for?
Principled Democrats should support democratic principles.
I'm sure the Titanic had a huge turning radius, but I'm pretty confident you could get it to turn around in less than one night.
I don't think Kamala Harris has learned anything from either of her presidential campaigns. She tried to keep a foot in the establishment camp and the progressive camp in 2020 and didn't make it to Iowa.
It won't work any better in 2028. She is alienating traditional Democratic voters like Jews and African-Americans in an attempt to win over people who call her a war criminal.
Kamala Harris on Israel:
It is in our interest to hold our allies accountable for their share of global defense, to ensure trade benefits American workers and consumers, and to uphold our moral obligation to human rights and international law.
To be sure, America has at times fallen short on that one.
Most recently, the failure to use our leverage to curtail the Israeli government's horrific conduct in the war in Gaza, both under the current administration, which offers Netanyahu a blank check, and our administration before, where we should have acted sooner and more forcefully.

I have no idea what Jews in Michigan will vote, but if they will vote against AES, it’s not only because he is anti-Israel. It’s mostly because he aligned himself with antisemites and others that want to hurt Jews in the US.
There are real fears in the Jewish community and the fact some democrats refuse to acknowledge that is one of the reasons why they’re losing support among Jews.
