Yesterday AWYAD, together with UNHCR, NRC and partners including TPO and Nsamizi, joined efforts to welcome the UNHCR Country Representative during a partner engagement mission. The mission provided an important platform for partners to reflect on progress and achievements made during implementation, identify existing gaps and challenges, and discuss future priorities in light of the current reduction in humanitarian funding. The engagement highlighted the importance of continued collaboration, coordination and strengthened partnerships in ensuring that resources are effectively utilized and that support reaches the communities that need it most. Restoring Dignity & Confidence, 79 Congolese Refugee Girls and Young Women Receive Reusable Sanitary Pads in Namasuba Today, 79 Congolese refugee girls and young women in Namasuba, Makindye Division, received reusable sanitary pad kits following a comprehensive Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) session. The session equipped participants with practical knowledge on the proper use, care and maintenance of reusable sanitary pads, while addressing menstrual health, personal hygiene, stigma and misconceptions surrounding menstruation. Through the Comprehensive Protection Project, the intervention is supporting refugee girls and young women with sustainable menstrual hygiene solutions that promote dignity, confidence, health and inclusion. Strengthening Community Engagement for Child Protection and GBV Prevention in Tika Zone. AWYAD, under the VITAL Project, conducted a community entry meeting in Tika Zone to formally introduce the project and strengthen collaboration with community structures and community members. The engagement provided an opportunity to introduce the project’s objectives, key interventions, and the referral pathway for Child Protection (CP) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) cases. Community structures and members were also introduced to the organizations responsible for implementing different result areas of the VITAL Project. Through meaningful community engagement and strengthened referral systems, AWYAD and its partners are committed to ensuring that children, women, and other vulnerable community members can access appropriate protection, support, and services when needed. AWYAD together with its partners held a free health outreach today, for the Bukesa Eritrean Refugee Community under the Spotlight Initiative. Community members received medical screening, consultations, and treatment, including diabetes, high blood pressure, eye health assessments, and HIV services. Together with @UNHCRuganda , @NRC_Norway, @AHA, @ Touch and Smile Development, @JRS helped to deliver the service. Committed to expanding access to essential healthcare and strengthening the well-being of refugee communities. #AWYADAt10

Stronger referral pathways. Safer GBV response. AWYAD is joining partners in a capacity enhancement session organized by @PlanUganda in Nyakabadde - Kisoro district to strengthen GBV case management and prevention. The focus; Harmonized referrals, confidentiality, safety, non-discrimination and accountability. As part of the work plan, AWYAD will train stakeholders on effective, humanitarian GBV referral pathways helping ensure survivors are connected to the right support, safely and with dignity. #AWYAD #GBV #GBVPrevention #HumanitarianResponse
