My advice to anyone who wants to teach their kids the game but doesn’t really know how to teach.
1. Hit it as far as you can off the tee. It doesn’t matter where it goes
2. Learn to lag putt and do it well
3. Let them drive the cart whenever they want..regardless of the course rules. Keeps them coming back.
4. Teach them to play without a golf glove, they are generally not necessary today with the grip technology.
5. When they are tired on the course or range, go home.
6. Don’t freak out if they hit cross handed young..that will work itself out.
7. Don’t buy them a rangefinder or GPS young. Learn to guess distance and feel it.
8. Tell them they get one practice swing
9. They need to always fix one ball mark even if they don’t hit the green.
10. Learn to play fast..you can always slow down.
