I think anyone could have won that Ballon D’or and many people would have still said the person does not deserve it.
Kane is not Bayern’s best player, that is Olise. Olise also won Bundesliga Player of the Year. Kane is not England’s best player, that was Jude at the World Cup. Kane won neither the World Cup nor Champions League. He won the league title though, which is expected of Bayern every season in Germany. He also had 73 goals and apart from what people say, scoring award should remain Gerd Muller trophy. Being the top scorer does not necessarily make you the best player.
If Lamine had won it, people would have said he had 1 G/A at the World Cup and he didn’t perform at the biggest stage. He also didn’t score as much as Mbappe and Kane. He did not win the Champions League. In fact, Barca crashed out in the Quarters. This would have been part of the things we could have read. However, he won the best player in La Liga, he won the World Cup, and won La Liga.
If Mbappe had won it, people would have said he won zero trophies, they forget he won top scorers in the UCL, World Cup, and La Liga, but still, Harry Kane outscored him overall, which meant Harry Kane took the Gerd Muller trophy. People would even call Mbappe’s goals useless because it didn’t amount to anything his teams, than his personal records. Just like I said with Kane, my opinion is same about goalscoring, the Gerd Muller trophy belongs to them. You score a lot does not mean you’re the best player.
In summary, what I’m saying is that any criticism or jabs or “Kane does not deserve it” tweet you see, it’s normal. If any of the other two had won it also, it would have been same criticisms.

Exactly a year ago these pictures were taken.
My wife had an in person job interview.
The night before, we said good night at 9pm as it’s a busy day tomorrow. She’s got a 3hr flight and a 4hr interview that included an hour presentation by her to the department she wanted to lead, and multiple managers from different departments.
Past 12 I noticed this woman kept turning side to side, and I finally got up and told her let’s go downstairs.
So we went downstairs, plugged the laptop to the TV, and I asked her to present to me. She presented to me over and over that night.
Before we realized it, it was 4am. Her flight is in 5hrs, I’m supposed to resume work in 2hrs. Kids need to go to school in 3hrs.
It was an easy decision for me to call work and say I’m not coming in today. As a healthcare worker, I don’t go to work when I’m not going to be able to give my 100%.
So I told her to go back to bed. She insisted she’d stay downstairs and watch me as I get ready to prepare the boys’ school supplies and clean up. 10min into that she was fast asleep.
By 7am the boys were ready for school. I left a note by her side in case she wakes up while we were gone. She didn’t.
Placed a kiss on her lips and woke her up with a cup of coffee when I got back. She smelled it and woke straight up. In another hour she was ready to catch the flight.
She did the interview, and after a standing ovation, she was told right there after the presentation on the stage, unanimously, the job is hers if she wants it.
She told them she needed to make a phone call first. This woman called me while on the stage saying “babe we got the job.” I was fast asleep, my brain did not calibrate. I said what job… I was on speaker 😂
Anyway, she resumed the job 2 months later and we have to move the whole family to the other side of the country.

It’s my husband’s birthday and I’m trying to find a picture to post, so I’m scrolling through my phone album with at least a hundred pictures of us dating back over 10 years. Every picture unlocks a memory and I smile. I scroll to the next and I smile again, I look at another picture and smile, our engagement, smile. Our wedding, smile. Welcoming our first son, smile. Navigating parenthood together, vacations, welcoming our second son, looking at you raising our 2 boys… At this point, I’ve smiled so much I’m starting to cry. 🥹 I look at my husband and whisper, “Thank you God!” I didn’t know what it meant for a man to be “all in” until I met you. For a man to choose you, it doesn’t matter your flaws, your issues, or the challenges that come with life. Just all in on the decision that I will love you with everything that I am, now and always. And then to watch him never waver from that decision through every argument, every challenge, every season, and every curveball life throws at us… that is something I never take for granted. Every day you show me the meaning of commitment. You show me what loving, supporting and leading a family looks like, what putting your partner first and foremost looks like. You are kind, generous, loving, stable, unyielding and deliberate in the way you show up for me, your kids, your family and everyone around you. I celebrate you today as you turn 40. I thank God for you and I pray that life keeps getting better and better for you. All your hard work, your dedication and your efforts shall be rewarded with overwhelming success, way beyond your imagination, IJN. I love you so much, more than I can describe in a post, and I can’t wait to see all that God is doing in you continue to materialize into wondrous things before our eyes. I am so proud to be your wife. So proud of the man you are. And so grateful that I get to do this life with you. Happy 40th birthday, baby 😘❤️ Cheers to many, many, MANY more years together! 🥂❤️

🚨🇦🇷 BREAKING NEWS: LIONEL MESSI RETIRES FROM INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL.
Messi will not play for Argentina national team anymore.
Humans are remarkably good at constructing narratives retrospectively. Once we know the outcome, we reorganize earlier events into a story that makes the present feel coherent.

It is difficult as parents to be actively involved with them. We often focus on making money, hustling, and doing grown up things under stress.
But if well harnessed, their playtime could be therapy for parents. It has to be intentional. Phone down. Get down to their level. Smile with them. Roll on the floor and laugh with them.
Those are the memories they’ll remember when they’re adults. Those are the memories they’ll cherish. Those are the memories that will stay with them forever.
Please make time for your children. If you don’t, someone else will. Better you than anyone else.
Shalom.

Their young memories do not store the vacations, the gifts or the money you spent on them.
Their memory store moments you spend with them, the effort you put in to being there with them, doing what they love to do, PLAY.

Bruno Fernandes is unarguably the biggest flop of the 2026 World Cup. Went into the World Cup as the EPL player of the season, broke the EPL assist record and widely regarded as the best midfielder in the world but ended doing absolutely nothing special. FLOP!

Yes, those photos you’ve seen are real.
More than 18 years ago, a baby named Lamine Yamal and his mom Sheila met Lionel Messi at a UNICEF fundraising photoshoot.
Today, their achievements on the pitch inspire millions. Off the pitch, both Messi and Lamine Yamal use their voices and platforms as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors to support and advocate for children around the world.
The goal? That every child survives, thrives, and fulfils their potential.
We are proud to have them on our team.
