Verse 2’s “Family Feud” is about his own family(Bey), but it’s also about the Corleone family from The Godfather. Someone in the family set Michael up to be k*lled & although Michael’s common sense helped save his life, the dangerous lifestyle ultimately caused his wife to leave. So yes he was betrayed by someone close, however him losing his wife was still his fault for the danger he brought to their home. Someone told Bey about Jay’s infidelity, & it doesn’t matter who or why they “betrayed” him because he shouldn’t have been doing dirt in the 1st place. That’s the lesson he referenced in the song. The same lesson he missed, even after watching The Godfather 100 times.
