Juggernaut

:F:all. :F:ire. :F:ehu. This time of year always has me thinking about burning things. Burning away outdated or unwanted parts of myself. Filling the shed with enough fuel to burn through the winter in my woodstove. Keeping the internal fire burning through the cold months and the dark times that have nothing to do with the weather. Many people are like pine. Quick to burn hot, but in a short time there’s no fire left and all that remains is cold ashes. The hardest struggle we face in our lives is maintaining the fire through good years and bad, easy times and hard ones. Burning hot enough that others can hopefully warm themselves when they’re out in the cold, and bright enough that our flame can be seen like a beacon in the darkness. To do so requires immense staying power and fortitude. Sometimes, we have to relight our own from the embers that others offer, and be grateful they were there to do it for us. It’s a sacred duty to maintain the fire, and to tend the ancestral hearth of our blood and heritage. If we let it go out, it may never be rekindled again. Let’s embrace our responsibility, and bring light to all this darkness by setting the world on fire again.
