This is why you apply pressure to and hold politicians accountable even if you support them. It’s your responsibility.
Zohran Mamdani's NYPD walks back $750,000 contract deal with Israeli surveillance company Cognyte after pressure from his supporters “It did not meet the criteria for a sole source procurement, so we are moving to an open, competitive procurement process” (via @NYDailyNews)

Huge day in Israel as the electorate that overwhelmingly backed the genocide in Gaza now decide if they want to re-elect the war criminal responsible or settle for another war criminal that prefers a more gradual ethnic cleansing. Difficult choices ahead.

I can't stop thinking of how Apartheid Israel has killed Palestinian media workers (~300) and their relatives (700+), making Gaza the deadliest place for journalists EVER. Time to make sure the genocidaires and their cheerleaders are held to account.

Sonia Gandhi's contribution to Indian politics and policy has gone largely unsung. With the release of her memoir, I hope that changes things and sparks new conversations.
A life of love and belonging ❤️🫶

Canada: here's $23B Kyiv: thanks! Here's a confusing drama in memes that we hope a few people will fall for
If you're wondering who is behind those Jagmeet Singh duffel bag ads on here, know that it's part of a multi-billion dollar scam empire being run out of Eastern European call centers. It's an absolutely massive problem and Canada is a priority target. cbc.ca/news/ukraine-call-cen…

This "once in a lifetime talent" thing is hyperbole, man. There are 100s of Nehas in progressive, ambedkarite & minority student organisations in India. Over the past 16 years, i've known dozens of Nehas who stood at the barricades, largely unsung, from JNU, DU, Jamia and AUD alone. By the time they reach leadership posts, they're all exceptionally skilled, strong, seasoned & smart!
She is a once in a millennium type leader! A jaw dropping combination of principles, courage, communication skills, and strategic brilliance. I've said it before and I'll say it again. She is going to be Prime Minister one day.

I’d like to thank every single person who came out today for this protest. I'd also like to thank the millions of people who showed support in their own way at 3pm. Thank you to the leaders of INDIA bloc, all the workers of the Congress party and workers of the INDIA bloc. Today was a very important day because we needed to show the government that the people of India are not going to be intimidated. You cannot beat us, threaten us, frighten us. We will not accept being bullied. I was wondering where the cowards of the RSS who were beating the young children day before yesterday were. Where were those people? Because I didn’t see them. When we are standing there and when the people of India are standing there, why don’t you come out? Why don’t you wear your little scarves and come out and see what happens? Because you’re essentially, like the Prime Minister of India, bullies. You cannot stand up. You can only use power to fight. So, it’s very heartening to see what happened. I’m proud of everybody. Everybody worked like a team. As I said in my press conference, there are no parallel protests. It’s one protest, and it’s a protest where everybody is standing together. Every single person is going to stand against these killers of our Constitution, these killers of our democracy. And we’re not going to back down. I’d also like to thank everybody from civil society organisations who came, supported us. We value your support, and we love all of you. Thank you all for coming out and defending the idea of India, the idea of the Constitution, the idea of our democracy. I’m extremely proud of every single person who came out on the streets. Thank you.

Once upon a time
In 2012 @ravish_journo wanted the army to take over and topple the Dr.Manmohan Singh govt, today when there is an emergency in the country, ravish is all day busy promoting ranka, dassu and dipku on all his socials. And he has the audacity to call everyone else godi media while being godi media himself. Do you get my point?

I just sat in quite an unbelievable meeting with the President of India. We presented our memorandum to her outlining PM Modi and HM Amit Shah’s gross subversion of India’s electoral system and seeking CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation. I was shocked that the President did not deny Vote Chori. Instead, she asked us to bring her proof. We will bring her a mountain of it. The INDIA bloc will gladly submit every piece of evidence before her. We welcome her assurance that she will examine the matter and take action.

Wow. A student organizer leading protests against Zohran Mamdani tonight reveals that she previously interned for him. Now she’s leading chants against the very politician she once worked for, accusing him of prioritizing his own political advancement over the people and movements that helped bring him to power. She delivers an ultimatum: The protests can stop when Mamdani stops the sale of stolen Palestinian land in NYC and abolishes the CUNY Board of Trustees, which advances Israel’s interests within the nation’s largest urban public university system. But she makes clear that she doesn’t expect him to deliver. In her view, Mamdani has become just another politician who makes promises to movements and then fails to meet their demands once in office. What makes her testimony particularly significant is that she isn’t someone who opposed Mamdani from the beginning. She worked for him. She believed enough in his political project to participate in it. Now she’s publicly confronting him. Her speech speaks to a broader frustration among people who placed their hopes in electoral politics as a vehicle for advancing Palestinian liberation. For some, the experience hasn’t strengthened their faith in political institutions. It has deepened their distrust.

Anyone in his place would have left this hellhole of a country and chosen a peaceful life. He saw his father and grandmother blown to pieces, yet he is still here, standing strong and fighting for this country. The very fearlessness costed him his childhood. Heroic in true sense.
It seems Rahul Gandhi was hurt on the forehead during the pushing and shoving, and it has swollen up.

Rahul today finds himself where Nehru once did. Right vilified him for secularism. Royals and capitalists resisted his democratic outlook. Left resented his resistance to ideological extremism. Neutrals were busy moralising from sidelines. Different era. Same forces.
