Whether religious, nationalist, genderist or a combination, cults are like drugs. They distort reality. People get hooked and act irrationally. Rehab is hard.

Given that their jobs no longer exist, how many of the 800 ghost workers are still resident in Scotland ... and how many are tax exiles?

When people see what it means, they'll change their minds. One of Scotland's leading historians has argued that any future independence vote should include a built-in confirmatory referendum to avoid repeating the "shambles" of the 2016 Brexit vote. heraldscotland.com/news/2667…

They will quite likely be made in the same factories as the North Korean propaganda school bags, so they 'll need to be careful they don't get their shipments mixed up. It would be embarrassing if they sent them to the wrong supreme leader.

Astonished yesterday that the SNP is pressing on with expensive free school bags. Maybe they should look at waiting times for Speech and Language therapy instead. 2 years in @JohnSwinney ‘s constituency. Much greater impact for children’s attainment.
“At almost £30 per child, ministers must explain whether this scheme represents the best value for taxpayers and assure teachers and parents that money could not be better spent elsewhere in our education system. “This adds up to £750 for a class of 25 pupils — money that could otherwise help fund much needed additional resources and support for children in the classroom” heraldscotland.com/news/2667…

this is huge - who would vote for independence knowing it would result in all of your cash at bank being forcibly converted into a new Scottish currency and strict capital controls being enforced which would prevent you from moving money out of the country?
Tim Rideout always insisted a new currency could be established with conversion of deposits purely voluntary. But Laurentjoye’s report kills that idea (it always was mad). Deposits convert automatically “without the consent of each customer”. Good luck selling that to voters…
