I mean Fleming was against Sean Connery being cast until he saw him in the role 😆
I agree if it ever happened that person would get tons of unnecessary abuse. Sad really

No radical change to the character, just his appearance would be different. He would still be playing James Bond

The books are written in a very different time, plenty wouldn't work in 2026
I wouldn't want to have any acknowledgement of his skin colour if we ever have a Black actor playing Bond. Just play him as the same character but in modern day.
Replying to @carp8502
Yep Bond is white in the books.
However I think for the film series it doesnt particularly make a difference as long as he is played like the character. After 60+ yrs the films are almost their own thing. I'm not pushing for it but plenty of POC could play the role well

A few issues with that film, Bond's death wasnt actually top of the pile. I think it should have been Blofeld not Safin and the reason he had to kill the virus with him then and there needed to be made a little clearer for the audience

Guess time will tell. Even if he doesn't get it we might find out who was close
If true I'd hope it would be Damson Idris 🤞🏻
Personally I'm not against a black actor as Bond, Idris Elba would have made a terrific Bond 15yrs ago
However I've seen the abuse blonde & ginger actors get, can't imagine how bad it would be online 😔
Probably not the right time
One source speculated that the mystery actor testing for 007 is an actor of color whose name is being withheld to spare him the inevitable racist vitriol that would be unleashed online — vitriol that may not be worth it unless he ultimately lands the role.

Well he obviously standing still enough to get down to the final few considered for the role

I can see him in a little lab cost telling Bond off 😆
