October is Pitbull Awareness Month ~ a reminder of how loving and loyal these dogs can be.
One year ago this month my pittie was tied to a train station in Harlem and left for dead. Today she’s sunning by the pool and still brings me a toy every time she sees me.
Brookie (you might remember her as NYCACC’s Pond as seen in the video below) is living proof that speaking up matters. The January outcry by X advocates over her kill command is how I found her. I wasn’t even looking for a dog… and she’s the most loving dog I’ve ever had.
Thank you @miraclelnresq for letting me foster and adopt her ❤️

Calling all #RottieLovers! 📣🐾 Rottweiler fans, you need to see this incredible girl.
Swizel Stick #269080 3 yrs NYCACC
⚠️Not in system yet but link will be **nycacc.app/browse/269080**
She might look big and powerful, but she is a gentle giant who wants nothing more than soft chin scratches and a warm hand to lean into. 🥺🐕🦺❤️
Watch her video ~ she has the sweetest, most soulful eyes. The way she just melts into human touch shows exactly how much love she has to give. She is the ultimate lean-in lovebug! 🌟✨
She has no notes and is waiting for her second chance. Could your home be her perfect match? 🏡🙏
RT to find her people! 💙🐾

‼️BEYOND URGENT IN DOWNEY SLAUGHTER SHELTER‼️
💔 Not one person has asked for Harrison‼️💔💔For 30 days, Harrison has watched people walk past his kennel, wondering why nobody wants him.‼️💔💔
He doesn’t know he’s on the urgent list and that his life could end tomorrow.‼️‼️He doesn’t know that the people walking past him might be his last chance to ever be seen💔💔Yesterday, he put on his little costumes💔Maybe he thought someone would finally notice him or someone would fall in love and THIS would be the day someone chose him.But instead, he had to go back into his kennel… 💔💔💔
Harrison #A5804079 is only 3 yrs old.‼️An 83-pound German Shepherd with a heart that deserves so much more than a shelter kennel‼️Can you foster, rescue or responsibly adopt him?
