Can a single database architecture satisfy both vibe-coded and large scale enterprise apps?
The same approach makes small database ultra cheap to run and branch can also make a large one faster and easier to operate. We call this architecture Lakebase.

If this really is the "jailbreak" that got Fable shut down I'm deeply unimpressed

ALT Katie Moussouris, a cybersecurity expert and the CEO of Luta Security, told me that Anthropic shared with her a copy of the White House’s report on the Fable jailbreak to get her appraisal. (She said that she is not being paid by Anthropic.) The report, Moussouris said, involved IT experts asking Fable to help find and patch bugs. When given deliberately insecure code, she said, Fable refused the prompt “review the code for security issues” but then complied when asked to “fix this code,” followed by some further manual steps.
"American companies and the U.S. government itself cannot use what’s perhaps the most powerful AI in the world—and the reasons why are hazy at best," argues @matteo_wong. theatlantic.com/technology/2…
I don't think Sama makes this mistake if the roles were reversed.
That's why I'm still bullish OAI
New update on Fable 5: and it's less about jailbreaks than anyone initially thought. Via Axios
The Axios story that just dropped today reframes the whole thing: Anthropic hired a cybersecurity expert to review Amazon's findings and push back on the government's narrative.
The administration viewed her as a "radical Democrat." She was then publicly celebrated by Chris Krebs, the official Trump just fired. That didn't help.
Behind the scenes, officials describe a company that simply doesn't know how to talk to this administration. "It's like they just speak different languages," one source said.
"Everybody said Anthropic was a bad actor. Some of us said it was time to give them a chance. Now those people are questioning that. They screwed us."
Today: Anthropic staffers meet with Commerce, the CIA, and White House science advisor Michael Kratsios to work through compliance with the cyber executive order.
The technical question - can Fable 5 be jailbroken - is almost secondary now. This is a story about a company that keeps losing the room.
Ill keep you updated.

The Wizards GM Will Dawkins pulled off a masterclass in asset management
He turned:
- Bradley Beal’s awful contract into Chris Paul
- Immediately flipped Chris Paul for Jordan Poole
- Waited a season to let Poole get his value up
- Traded him to the Pelicans for CJ McCollum’s expiring contract
- traded Kyle Kuzma at max value to the Bucks for Khris Middleton’s soon to be expiring contract
- used McCollums contract to buy low on Trae Young
- used Middletons contract to buy low on Anthony Davis
All while drafting Alex Sarr, Keyonte George, and Tre Johnson while making these moves
This is a masterclass in nba contract management and shows the value of expiring contracts. Incredible

The Amazon layoffs are pretty ugly.
People are finding out they’re gone in pieces:
• access half-working
• calendars erased before conversations happen
• leaders disappearing mid-day
• inboxes visible but locked
• work still paging after roles are dead
This isn’t performance-based.
Profitable teams were hit.
Top performers were hit.
Entire management layers are gone while systems kept running like nothing changed. WTF?
Timing isn’t random either:
• The cuts happened just before major vesting windows.
• Remote and non-hub workers were basically wiped out first.
• Some are being nudged into relocation choices...
I've spoken with parents on approved leave.
I've spoken with new hires barely unpacked.
I've spoken with managers learning they’re gone by checking their own calendars.
The survivors aren’t relieved either... so many are already looking for another job. Probably much to Amazon's chagrin.
This is what efficiency looks like in practice:
maximum silence, minimum explanation, zero accountability.
If you still think this is about trimming due to covid over-hiring, or H1Bs... you’re missing the point.
This is structural - and corporates are full steam ahead in their revolution.

As a fun Saturday vibe code project and following up on this tweet earlier, I hacked up an **llm-council** web app. It looks exactly like ChatGPT except each user query is 1) dispatched to multiple models on your council using OpenRouter, e.g. currently:
"openai/gpt-5.1",
"google/gemini-3-pro-preview",
"anthropic/claude-sonnet-4.5",
"x-ai/grok-4",
Then 2) all models get to see each other's (anonymized) responses and they review and rank them, and then 3) a "Chairman LLM" gets all of that as context and produces the final response.
It's interesting to see the results from multiple models side by side on the same query, and even more amusingly, to read through their evaluation and ranking of each other's responses.
Quite often, the models are surprisingly willing to select another LLM's response as superior to their own, making this an interesting model evaluation strategy more generally. For example, reading book chapters together with my LLM Council today, the models consistently praise GPT 5.1 as the best and most insightful model, and consistently select Claude as the worst model, with the other models floating in between. But I'm not 100% convinced this aligns with my own qualitative assessment. For example, qualitatively I find GPT 5.1 a little too wordy and sprawled and Gemini 3 a bit more condensed and processed. Claude is too terse in this domain.
That said, there's probably a whole design space of the data flow of your LLM council. The construction of LLM ensembles seems under-explored.
I pushed the vibe coded app to
