262 days.
It’s been 262 days since you were airlifted to BC Children’s Hospital.
262 days since we were told, “We did everything we could, but we don’t think she’s going to make it through the night.”
Since then, I’ve watched you fight for every single one of those days.
251 days ago, you opened your eye, moved it, and shifted your leg only to be rushed back for emergency surgery that morning when hydrocephalus set in.
238 days ago, you were extubated and breathed on your own for the first time.
230 days ago, you felt the sun on your face again.
224 days ago, the cranioplasty we had planned turned into yet another emergency when an infection was discovered.
214 days ago, your EVD was finally removed.
213 days ago, you sat on the edge of the bed with a little help, and I wrapped my arms around you for the first time since the morning I left for work before any of this began.
191 days ago, the NG tube came out, and I saw your beautiful face completely clear of tubes and tape.
179 days ago, your prosthetic skull was placed. Your fifth surgery, and the one that finally stuck. After that, things slowly began to feel possible again.
145 days ago, you smiled for the first time (intentionally) while we played thumb war.
140 days ago, I wheeled you off hospital grounds for the very first time.
61 days ago, I heard your voice again.
40 days ago, we celebrated your 13th birthday at the Foo Fighters.
And today, today you’re being released.
There was never a day I stopped believing we would get here. The road ahead is still long, but this is a milestone no one thought we would reach. Maya, you are the bravest person I know. You are an inspiration to so many people. Giving up was never an option for me, and it clearly never was for you either. You refused to accept the words we heard 262 days ago when you came out of the OR. Look at you, my girl. You blew every expectation out of the water.
Thank you to the incredible nurses, doctors, and therapists who walked every step of this with us. Thank you to everyone who supported Maya and our family we could not have done this without each and every one of you.
Now it’s time to leave these hospital walls behind and keep moving forward, Maya Bear.
I love you forever and always.

💔 IN MEMORY OF JESSE ADAMS — A TRUE HERO FOR ANIMALS 💔
It is with enormous sadness that we have learned of the tragic death of Jesse Adams, founder of RainCoast Dog Rescue Society in Canada, who lost his life while carrying out an animal rescue mission in one of the most dangerous areas of Ukraine.
Jesse dedicated his life to saving animals, even when it meant putting his own life at risk.
We first came to know Jesse in 2021, when Afghanistan fell to the Taliban. Jesse and RainCoast were among the extraordinary organisations that came together to assist KSAR with the evacuation of 285 cats and dogs, helping many find loving forever homes.
Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Jesse travelled to the border to help fleeing families and their pets, providing veterinary care, supplies and assistance getting animals to safety.
He returned repeatedly, undertaking increasingly dangerous missions.
Most recently, Jesse worked alongside Animal Rescue Kharkiv, rescuing hundreds of animals from devastated frontline communities under constant threat from drones, missiles and artillery.
These were extraordinary acts of compassion and courage in the face of unimaginable danger.
Jesse knew the risks. He knew every mission could be his last. Yet he continued because he believed animals caught in conflict deserved protection just as much as those living in peace.
Those of us working in animal rescue in conflict zones understand and accept these risks. But few possess the courage to repeatedly travel towards danger when everyone else is trying to escape it.
Jesse was one of those very special people.
His death is a devastating loss to his family, friends, RainCoast and the international animal rescue community.
Our hearts go out to everyone who knew and loved him, particularly the Ukrainian rescuers who worked alongside him.
His legacy lives on in every animal he saved and every rescuer he inspired.
Rest in peace, Jesse. The world has lost an extraordinary human being, and the animals have lost a true champion. 🐾💔
With love and deepest respect,
Louise and everyone at War Paws

‼️ INSANE. The UN just handed Canada a gold star.
Canada is carrying NEARLY HALF of the UN's REFUGEE referrals.
UN Refugee Agency told member states Canada showed "remarkable leadership," accounting for "nearly half of UNHCR resettlement referrals in 2026."
The world is pulling back.
So the UN leans on the one government that keeps saying YES.
WE’RE FIRST PLACE IN A RACE NOBODY ELSE IS RUNNING.

"Canadian man."
Born in Kuwait. Moved to Canada in 2015. Arrested in May 2016 plotting ISIS bombings in Times Square and the New York subway.
Then he stabbed a prison guard in the eye. Note in his sock: "This is a terrorist attack for the Islamic State."
That's the part CP24 left out of the headline.

🇨🇦 Canada’s health-care system is collapsing in real time.
ERs closing. Surgeries cancelled. Patients dying on waitlists.
So naturally, Ottawa decided the priority was funding health care abroad — Syria, Gaza, Bangladesh, Nepal, Vietnam, Indonesia, Pakistan, South Sudan.
Canadians can’t get a family doctor…
but at least we’re world-class at exporting health care we can’t deliver at home.
This isn’t generosity.
It’s governing by press release.
Charity without competence isn’t virtue — it’s neglect.
Fix Canada first. Then lecture everyone else.

BREAKING -
Canada approved over 722,000 work permits in just the first 8 months of 2026.
Ottawa claims it's "fixing" immigration while still processing permits by the hundreds of thousands.
68,300 Canadians lost their jobs in September.
On Nov 3rd, they’re dropping the rule that you even have to try to hire a Canadian first.
The Prime Minister told us he’s taken control of immigration but all he’s done is manage the optics of it.

The Liberals confirmed they’re contributing $100 million to a global “gender equality” fund which will help build affordable housing IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC.
Canadians are living in tents, cars, and their parents' basements with a whole generation of Canadians giving up on ever owning a home.

WOW! Young Italian delivered a furious, emotional speech after violent riots erupted in his city Milan, caused by third-world invaders.
“I can’t stand these people anymore. I know so many people who come here from all over the world, work hard, and are already out working at five in the morning.
If you come here and destroy my country, you’ll be sent back to your own country kicking and screaming! I’ve had enough of this bullshit. I can’t take it anymore!
And then they come here, and everything is supposed to be fine? Well, if they rape my daughter or my sister, then we’ll talk! Let’s see Ashline come here and say all this bullshit to our faces!
I can’t stand these people anymore. I’m 23 years old, and I want to live in my own city! And we have to be the ones to start. We have to be the ones to rise up and fight back! My city doesn’t even exist anymore. My grandfather, my great-grandfather—they built all of this.”

There hasn’t been a single case of mass-looting in Vilnius, Warsaw, Prague, Budapest or Zagreb in decades.
Meanwhile, it happens frequently in France.
It doesn’t happen in Central Eastern Europe because the societal and demographic basis for such behavior just isn’t there
