NFL Offenses aren't the only innovators and have copycats. NFL Defenses are right there! The meta, it appears, is more and more teams blitzing less and less. And, a lot of the time, it WORKS. The Rams, Seahawks, Texans, Packers & Eagles were amongst the bottom ten in blitz rate, and yet were in the TOP 10 in pressure rate in 2025. They were getting home despite not bringing extra rushers. Why? Simulated pressures & coverage disguises. This is not new. Fangio-inspired, and now perfected by Jeff Hafley (big reason he's a HC now) and Mike MacDonald. And guess what? The Titans blitzed 5th least last year and were 12th in no blitz pressure rate. Dennard Wilson is bringing similar concepts to the Giants. It's also why having excellent press corners are also important (hence drafting Colton Hood - the best press corner in the draft). If you can force the QB to hold on just a second and have them second guess where pressure is coming from, you have a successful defense. It's why they were so excited with Arvell Reese & why some (not all, they are different prospects) overlap with Abdul Carter is so perfect. Both are alpha rushers that can play at a high enough level as stack linebackers to legitimately disguise where the pressure is going to come from. Matt Patricia did an excellent job at OSU of disguising pressure. Two such examples seen below vs Texas where Reese is threatening over the A gap. In one, he backs off and ends up as a spy on Arch, who is forced to dump off to the safety valve and the other is Arch getting confused and yields to the DB coming off the edge. Can you imagine Abdul & Arvell double mugging the A gap and you have no clue who's coming and who isn't? Dennard Wilson must be giddy.

There's no way he's not traded. You're actively tearing things down for a rebuild and you keep a 28 year old RB?
Colts RB Jonathan Taylor would net Indy the biggest return, which NFL folks believe would be a 2-plus. But Taylor would be the hardest for the team to part with.

Yeah I'm legit mad that the Giants didn't not give up that much for Nelson.

Another week. Another dj reader appreciation post. I really can’t find a better deal on the DT Market right now, he’s playing way above his contract - so glad we got him next year too. Such an important part piece of this early success
Dj reader such a beast man, we’d be lost without him on interior

If he continues to play the way he has, he's gonna be asking for way more than that and for multiple years. Need a bigger sample size before dropping stacks imo.
Replying to @KSIXI
Need to sign banks. $21 million is too big of a hit for him

Taking a quick look at prominent FA for the Giants next year: CB Deonte Banks CB Greg Newsome EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux LB Micah McFadden DL Shelby Harris S Ar'darius Washington S Jason Pinnock TE Chris Manhertz WR Darnell Mooney C John Michael Schmitz C Bryan Hudson RB Devin Singletary I'd expect Banks to get the franchise tag. Think they'll pay Newsome. And probably be able to bring back Pinnock, Manhertz, Hudson, Washington. Think Singletary, JMS, Mooney, Kayvon & McFadden move on for more playing time somewhere else. Harris, I'm torn on if he's going to come back.

Can always count on the Dallas defense being one of the most pathetic in the league.

Imagine it's the summer as a Giants fan. And I told you by week 7: - Deonte Banks is a CB1, and the pass defense is 6th in the league in YPG - JJ freaking McCarthy is throwing bombs to Malik Nabers - The Giants have 1.5 game lead over the rest of the NFC East and have come off a win vs a 10.5 point favorite - Jalin Hyatt getting snaps - Matt Nagy got Giants fans excited You'd drug test me.

I am 1000% rooting for Philadelphia tonight. Dallas still has firepower to win this division. Philly has essentially a dead season and they're going to do their damndest to get a good draft pick. Go 🤢🤢🤢 Birds 🤮🤮🤮🤮

It may sound mean, but if the Giants lose, it's on Dominic Zvada. He's already cost us the Commanders game.

No lead is safe as a Giants fan. Don't come out with 3 straight runs. You've been setting up play action all day.
