SURPRISED?
“Moreover, one famous study finds that “93% of sex offenders describe themselves as ‘religious’ and that this category of offender may be the most dangerous.”
Russell Brand, convicted of rape, told us who he was. Why didn't Christian leaders listen?

Helpful from KSP. Private engagement is fine but the public profiling was deeply unhelpful - mainly for the victims, but also for Brand himself.

Russell Brand has now been convicted in a court of law on one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault against four different women.
In September 2023, the response to "cancel culture" had swung in such a radical direction that you could behave like an absolute animal and just accuse anyone who said so of being a leftist witch hunter, and you could build a great audience.
You could even go on to become a Christian influencer. In fact, that was the perfect path.
If I showed you the DM's, the emails, the responses I received for even suggesting that maybe one shouldn't get on the Russell Brand "How to Become a Christian in 7 Days" bandwagon, you would be shocked. It was both naivety and resentful vitriol packaged together in the same concoction.
It has been a dark few years, in which many grifters thrived.
The new Russell Brand stuff is disturbing. What those rushing in don't seem to understand is that while his impending repetitional downfall might be driven by mimetic behavior, so are knee-jerk accusations that it is a "hit piece" and those rushing to his Defense without knowing much of anything about the situation (other than it puts you on a certain side of a culture war fault line, against the "mainstream media"). Does anyone want to grapple with reality anymore?

I recorded two podcasts this week each of which had a production team that included a student of mine from many years back! One was my student in 2000!!!

The weirdest part of those AI scam emails to authors is the premise. You don't need an author's permission (or money, obviously) to feature his book in your book club or reading group or whatever. He doesn't even need to know you're doing it. Just go ahead and do it.

I've often wondered why some pastors are so determined to extend grace to child sex offenders — especially when it puts children in their congregation at risk. In the case of South Carolina minister Tracy Black, one possible answer is becoming clearer.
Black defended his decision to allow a registered sex offender to attend outdoor church services and dismissed concerns about child safety. Now Black is facing charges for alleged child sex abuse and possession of child sex abuse material.
Could it be his empathy for child sex abusers was actually empathy for himself?
