Upgrading the access road to the Wajir County Aggregation and Industrial Park (CAIP) to bitumen standards undertaken by the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) under Package 6 of its development tenders. The project forms part of the Government’s broader national initiative to provide critical enabling infrastructure, including quality road networks, to support the operationalisation of priority County Aggregation and Industrial Parks across the country. The improved road will enhance accessibility to the Wajir CAIP, facilitate the movement of goods and raw materials, reduce transport costs and strengthen the park’s potential to drive local manufacturing, trade, investment and job creation.

Every minute saved in transport is a minute invested in productivity, innovation and growth, a vision that is taking shape in Nairobi as construction of the Kenyatta Avenue–Upper Hill Viaduct advances well. Spearheaded by the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (@KURAroads), the project is set to ease chronic congestion between Upper Hill, Valley Road and the Central Business District, improving mobility and unlocking economic opportunities within the capital. The project has now progressed from the substructure phase to the superstructure stage. Reinforced concrete piers and pier caps have been completed, providing the foundation for the next phase, which involves the installation of precast girders that will span the structure and support the elevated bridge deck. This marks a significant milestone towards the realization of the one-kilometre dual carriageway viaduct. Stretching from the Integrity Centre area past Serena Hotel and All Saints' Cathedral to Kenyatta Avenue, the viaduct will feature cycle lanes and pedestrian walkways, promoting safe and inclusive mobility. It also forms part of a broader urban transport network that includes the Valley Road–Kenyatta Avenue/Ngong/Nyerere Interchange and the Upper Hill–Haile Selassie Overpass, creating seamless connectivity across the city. The State Department for Internal Security and National Administration continues to support the successful implementation of the project by coordinating security, enhancing road safety awareness and safeguarding critical public infrastructure. For a rapidly growing capital like Nairobi, time is of the essence. To confront the City's perennial gridlock and traffic snarls, the Government continues to roll out strategic infrastructure interventions, among them the Kenyatta Avenue Viaduct, a flagship project by the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA). Designed to link Valley Road directly to the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD), the viaduct will streamline traffic flow by lifting through-traffic above congested intersections, significantly easing movement into the city core. Construction is steadily advancing, with key civil works already visible. Reinforced concrete piers and substructures are in place along the corridor, while superstructure works are progressing, particularly around the NHIF Building, where sections of the deck have already been elevated. The project runs along Kenyatta Avenue, stretching from the Integrity Centre to the Serena Hotel, marking a critical urban mobility corridor. The viaduct features an elevated dual carriageway of approximately one kilometre, complemented by integrated cycle lanes and pedestrian walkways to support non-motorized transport. Modern drainage systems are also being incorporated to address urban flooding challenges, enhancing the resilience and sustainability of the City's infrastructure. The State Department for Internal Security and National Administration plays a key role in ensuring road safety, traffic management and security compliance during and after implementation, helping transform the viaduct into a safe and orderly urban asset. KeRRA's Structures: Lifelines for Rural Kenya! At the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA), our bridges and structures are the lifelines connecting rural communities, boosting trade, and driving national development. They are not just engineering marvels, they ensure safe, reliable access to markets, schools and healthcare. Today, we focus on the Baricho Bridge in Kilifi County, which stands as Kenya's first-ever Cantilevered Box Girder bridge. It features a 241-meter span across the River Sabaki. Economically, it unlocks the Galana Irrigation Programme by slashing transport costs, minimizing post-harvest losses, and linking farmers to markets in Malindi, Kilifi, and Mombasa, boosting trade, agribusiness and regional food security. #ConnectingDevolvedKenya
