I was really enjoying this recent episode of Lovecraft Country until it went all "smear the queer". What a storytelling fumble.
Why introduce two queer characters and make one of them mute and the other a killer?
This really fires me up to do justice by our characters.
However, Black folks are so damned starved for messages, mesiahs and text to deal with this fucked up global anti- blackness we start looking for signs and wonders everywhere. Black discourse means mastigating all texts down to shreds these days.
I am seriously not looking forward to the discourse about to come from people's analysis of the new Beyonce visual album. I love Bey, I really do. My missus is a member of the beehive, we in these streets.
Man, watching Teddy Riley vs Baby Face on Instagram live and these old heads can't figure out technology. The best part is the mean fellow Black folks roasting the fuck out of them. I love Black people, for realz. We are so wrong. #nobodyissacred

Elsa Barkley Brown, Deborah King and I initiated this ad campaign for Anita Hill in 1991. We were pleased to be contacted by the initiators of the 2018 ad, featuring male allies, as they sought to make historical connections.
In 1991, 1,600 African-American women took out a full-page ad in the @nytimes to show support for Anita Hill.
In today's NYT, 1600 male allies, in a crowdfunded effort, place a full-page ad in support of Anita Hill and Christine Blasey Ford.

Tonight TV heroes won courtroom arguments and saved lives in the ER, but the most heroic act can come from you. Senators from Maine, Alaska, Arizona & Nebraska will determine if a man credibly accused of sexual assault will sit on our nation’s highest court. #TIMESUP
Women literally have to hold their shit together while bleeding out, stay on message while being gaslighted and smile while being flayed.
Privileged white men get to cry, bluster and yell while being presented with reasonable questions and still be given the benefit of the doubt
The consequences of bringing police and other social services into the home of a Black single mother were not worth it. I knew this at age 8. #WhyIDidntReport
