This is true for orgs that put some tools in the hands of middle management to enable the AI to actually understand the business. When you just put AI on top of your database and tell it something like “why are leads stuck in my marketing funnel” it makes a bunch of assumptions about your marketing funnel. In some ways it’s amazing. It understands marketing performance, funnel stages, etc and can read through your marketo and salesforce data. But it also makes a bunch of assumptions. Some right, some wrong. And when the team points out the wrong assumptions, which sometimes lead to wrong conclusions, trust in AI plummets. But if the analysts actually are involved in the business logic layer - then the magic happens. And then you have some real visibility and completely agree you can fundamentally change how the company operates. Span of control changes. But I still think middle management / operational analysts are critical to achieving this.

@cleoabram made an excellent point during her “Here’s The Scoop” interview. When asked if she had any optimism around AI, she explained that talking to tech leaders has left her more curious than afraid. She also mentioned that regulating AI could mean anything because AI is such a spectrum.
