Turns out all it took was showing and commenting on clips of my critics to get them to stop talking about me. I guess giving them a small taste of their own medicine isn’t quite as pleasant as they thought.

I’ve been exploring the artistic side of AI since it first emerged, and I feel like I have a bit of an advantage—though I hope that doesn’t sound arrogant. Many people still have a lot to learn about using it effectively. My advice is to infuse your own personality into it and steer it toward your vision, making it a powerful channel for your imagination. I used to believe I was open-minded about most forms of expression, but in reality, I’m not as open-minded as I thought. I’ve closed off many avenues that could influence my perspective, and many people have used various forms of media to promote a vision that doesn’t align with mine. That’s cool. I’m fine with visions I don’t necessarily enjoy. I just want to say, use AI in a way that doesn’t cater to the masses or what a focus group might find appealing. You can’t surprise people if you only tap into their basic urges. You’ve got to stray from the beaten path and step outside your comfort zone if you truly want to create something surprising and engaging. I feel that without my imagination, most of my ideas would have been lost in the mass visions of the lowest common denominator. My vision doesn’t cater to everyone, but it resonates with some. Those few individuals it speaks to—that’s the audience I’m seeking. So that’s the advice I can offer. If your vision truly matters, make full use of AI, even if it’s just to convey your idea visually or audibly. Don’t let artists who’ve had an easy path to knowledge shame you into believing that “real” art is the only art worth appreciating. A true artist should embrace the changing tides rather than trying to push the waters away from the shore.
