For some living on California's North Coast, a trip to the grocery store can take three hours. Geography, poverty, housing costs, and climate change contribute to food insecurity in Humboldt County. My latest for @AltaJournal

I interviewed @jaanuhelszki about being one of the first women music writers, the danger of interviewing your idols, the return of @creemmag (and what lessons she learned from the past), and why music still excites her. altaonline.com/dispatches/a4…

With tensions on the Korean Peninsula at their highest level since 2017, the Biden administration must prioritize reducing the threat of renewed conflict, and that means defusing tensions using diplomatic means, writes @cmoo11_ in @nknewsorg

If we can spend ~$850 billion on defense, why can't we guarantee paid sick leave and provide health care for all Americans?
US-China tensions are exacerbating the security crisis in Korea, but the two countries could cooperate on peacebuilding in Korea, which would help to reduce tensions, build trust, and, most crucially, avoid a possible war. Read our new report:
(1/2) A new report by Women Cross DMZ, “U.S.-China Competition and the Korean Peninsula: From Confrontation to Peacebuilding,” shows how the Korean Peninsula has become the fault line for rising U.S.-China tensions. womencrossdmz.org/new-report…

I really wish this @nytimes piece on #LongCovid mentioned the success of brain retraining programs like DNRS. nytimes.com/2022/08/25/opini…
"We have observed great to astonishing full recovery from severe long Covid / post-acute Covid-19 disease (PACS)... in many patients undergoing DNRS training." -- Dr. Cecilia Söderberg-Nauclér
Really hope more journalists start looking into the mind-body connection and the potential for brain retraining to help those with #longcovid and other chronic health conditions recover.
The ongoing Korean War doesn't just affect Koreans. Efforts to recover the remains of 5,300 US servicemembers still in North Korea have been continually sidelined by the US govt for political reasons. Families are angry and frustrated, rightfully so.
