Tech: where immigrants are industry leaders, workers are multi-millionaires, companies respond to employee concerns on social issues, and everyone competes to be the greenest.
It's the most progressive industry in the world.

France is trying to come to terms with a disturbing new development tonight -ย a terrorist attack on black people and muslims in a town just south west of Paris. President Emmanuel Macron travelled to Trappes soon after the attack which killed one person and wounded four others, including a 12 years old girl. Macron said: โThis is a turning point - the first time in our Republic that people have been targeted in a terrorist attack for the colour of their skin.โ 1/

Would you let any AI app see everything on your phone?
We asked 8,000 Europeans. At first, they liked the idea of rival AI assistants getting equal access. Then they learned what that access means, and support flipped.

If the #Malfoid trend has shown me anything, it's this - we are fast approaching a time where people will judge a work based on its merits and not by how it was made. And those people who cannot, will be regarded as ignorant bigots and luddites like countless other groups throughout history.
And I'll go one step further, which is sure to piss off a great deal of you. I don't care at this point.
I would rather watch an AI product like this than sit through any insufferable corpo slop like Amazon's Rings of Power or Disney's Star Wars ever again! This small production had more heart, more thought, and yes! More talent behind it than either of the two storytelling abortions mentioned above ever had.
You want to tell stories in a traditional way, fine. Power to you!
You want to use AI to tell stories, fine. Power to you as well!
May the story with the best ideas, most engaging characters, and most compelling plot win. That's all I want. Good storytelling once again.
Who knew that a silly Harry Potter genderswap would show the power and creativity of AI?

These are not transfers from the US, but from other countries. The US is now actively sabotaging Ukrainian defense of civilians.
Breaking news: The Trump administration has not approved the transfer of interceptor missiles to Ukraine that are needed to protect the country from Russian attacks, officials said, a delay that comes as President Trump has embraced Russia in recent weeks. wapo.st/4yCb7T7

I donโt think Europeans fully appreciate what is happening to the European Union right now.
The EU is under an extraordinary, multi-front assault, both from outside and from within. And I struggle to think of another period in its history when so many powerful actors had an interest in weakening it simultaneously.
Russia has spent years waging hybrid warfare against Europe. Weaponised migration, sabotage, cyberattacks, coordinated disinformation campaigns, bot networks and political interference. The objective is clear: undermine trust in democratic institutions, deepen social divisions and weaken European unity.
China has different motivations, primarily economic and geopolitical. A fragmented Europe is easier to pressure, easier to negotiate with individually and less capable of defending its economic interests.
And then there is the United States. Perhaps the most disturbing development of all.
Under Trump and MAGA, a country that helped rebuild the old continent and then spent decades supporting European integration now has an administration openly hostile to much of what the EU represents. Its own National Security Strategy even calls for cultivating resistance to Europeโs current political direction.
Think about that for a moment.
Meanwhile, within Europe, parts of the far right and far left amplify these divisions, whether through ideological alignment, political opportunism or outright sympathy for authoritarian regimes.
This doesnโt mean Russia, China and MAGA are all following some jointly coordinated master plan. They donโt have to. Their interests increasingly overlap, and Europeโs internal divisions make their work considerably easier.
What makes this particularly alarming is what is actually at stake.
For all its flaws, the EU remains one of the worldโs most consequential projects built around liberal democracy, the rule of law, individual freedoms and cooperation between nations.
At a time when authoritarianism is gaining ground and even longstanding democracies are showing disturbing tendencies, that matters enormously.
Europe is far from perfect. Its bureaucracy, indecision and inability to act decisively are real problems. But the answer cannot be to retreat into 27 competing nation-states, each too small to meaningfully influence a world increasingly dominated by continental powers.
Quite the opposite.
Europe needs deeper integration, stronger common institutions, genuine strategic autonomy and the political courage to defend its interests and values.
Because fragmentation is precisely what so many external actors want.
And perhaps thatโs the central irony of our time: people are being deliberately manipulated into believing that the reverse is true โ that national identity and sovereignty can only be protected by weakening European cooperation. In reality, a divided Europe is less sovereign, less secure and far easier for outside powers to pressure. Therefore the very thing that will make Europe stronger is the thing its adversaries are working hardest to prevent.
A united Europe is a geopolitical power. A divided Europe is a collection of countries waiting to be played against one another.

๐บ๐ฆ Zelenskyy delivers a blunt message to the United States:
โJust give us Starlink back. If you refuse, Ukraine will survive. We will continue defending ourselves with or without it.
But why would you restrict a country fighting for its survival? Why make it harder for us to defend our people?
I simply cannot understand the reasoning behind this decision. It is a mistake.โ
Ukraine isnโt asking America to fight its war. Itโs asking America not to stand in the way of its defense.

Just to be clear about what happened here:
- Trump cut a deal with Putin that will route ~$4B of American dollars to Russia. That money will be used to fund the war.
- Trump announced an "energy ceasefire" that was probably Putin's idea, surprised the Ukrainians, is structured to benefit Russia, and was immediately broken by the Russian military.
- When Zelensky spoke candidly about these terrible deals, the US cut off Starlink access in ways that made it harder for Ukraine to intercept Russian drones, and seemingly withheld intel about ballistic missile attacks.
- Last week alone, Russia killed more than 150 civilians in Ukraine, including 33 in one strike on a bus stop.
Trump is de facto asking @ZelenskyyUa to surrender. Zelensky can throw on a suit, he can endure lectures from whiny little bitches like @JDVance, but he can't lay down and die just because Trump wants the Nobel Peace Prize.
