Dear Elon Musk @elonmusk,
Three days ago, Block, the parent of Cash App, agreed to pay roughly $764 million to the Department of Justice for failing to stop money laundering on a product that looks a lot like X Money. Regulators found Cash App’s backlog of unreviewed suspicious activity alerts went from 18,000 to 169,000 in two years. The product grew faster than the people watching it.
I am writing because I believe the same thing is about to happen to you, and I would rather say so now than read about it later.
My name is Everett Stern. I am the HSBC whistleblower. In 2010 I was a compliance officer who found money moving through the bank for drug cartels, terror financiers, and sanctioned regimes. I documented it. I escalated it. I was told to stop. So I took it to the United States government, the way every citizen is told to. The bank paid $1.9 billion. Nobody went to jail. And I lost everything. My career ended. I was blacklisted from the industry I had tried to protect. I slept on a cot in an apartment with cockroaches and waited tables at @PFChangs to survive. I risked my life, and for a long time I was not sure it had been worth it. I rebuilt from nothing, and I decided the rest of my life would be spent preventing the next HSBC.
Last month Bank of America admitted to willfully violating the Bank Secrecy Act. More than $5 billion in suspicious transactions went unreported. 475 sanctions violations touching Russia, Iran, and global terrorism programs. The bank paid $1.2 billion, about two weeks of its profit, and not one person was charged. I wrote an open letter to Secretary Bessent asking him to refer the people responsible for criminal prosecution. 3.7 million Americans read it. Republicans and Democrats stood behind it. The Secretary never answered. No banker is going to jail.
Here is the problem we are facing, in plain terms. Every terrorist attack starts with a wire transfer. Every drug death in America starts with a cartel being able to move its money. The banks know it, pay their fines, and keep going. The government knows it and takes no real action. Fourteen years after HSBC, nothing has changed, and people are dying because of it.
But you can change it. You can on your own platform, from the first day, before the first alert backlog ever forms. The banks will not do it. Treasury has not done it. You could be the first person with the power to build it right who actually did.
I have the highest respect for you and what you have built. I know you have no interest in supporting terrorists or drug cartels. But I have spent fourteen years watching how they work, and they are already reading your website. It promises to “pay anyone on X, free and with no limits,” a Visa card with worldwide ATM fee reimbursements, no foreign transaction fees, and wires in and out. That is a feature list for an honest customer. It is also a feature list for a cartel. You have spent three years fighting bots on this platform. The day a bot can hold a wallet, the bot problem becomes a money laundering problem. Picture a fentanyl distributor in Phoenix with two hundred burner accounts, moving $900 at a time with no limits, cashed out through an X Card at an ATM anywhere in the world by Friday, with the fees reimbursed. Regulators call that structuring. Everyone else can see what it is.
Your website says a great deal about yield, cashback, and FDIC coverage. It does not say one word about how X Money verifies who a customer is or watches where the money goes. Maybe that work is being done quietly. If it is, I would be glad to be wrong. If it is not, that is the gap Block just paid $764 million for.
I am asking for a conversation. With you, with whoever leads financial crimes at X Money, or with anyone there who has the power to make a difference. Please allow me the honor of helping make X Money better and protecting the financial system of the United States of America.
Thank you for all you do for this country.
With sincere respect,
Everett A. Stern

$RKLB earnings Monday
Historical pattern:
Rocket Lab reports Monday after the close, and the options market is pricing a big one. Roughly a 15% move either way, about $8 a share off Friday's $53.07 close. That puts the expected range near $45 to $61.
The actual history is a little calmer than that. The last four prints averaged just under 10% close to close, and the last eight averaged 10.6%. But averages hide how this stock really trades on earnings. In August it closed flat. In May it jumped 34.2% in one session.
This print also has more hanging on it than the numbers. The quarter itself is guided to $250 to $265 million in revenue, right around the $257 million consensus. What moves the stock is probably Neutron timing and any update on the Iridium deal closing.
Priced for 15, usually does 10, sometimes does 34.
a concern i have with tesla is that they’re all in on robotaxis just as we’re entering a dire time in the transition into the post-ai economy
why do people need rides?
it’s to go places.
to go eat. drink. head to the airport.
they’re mostly big city dwellers without a car going around town
most common riders are younger, college educated - usually in their 20’s and 30’s
but times have changed a lot over the past 5+ years
gen z employment rates are down the drain. i get no one cares but it’s true. they’re not going out bc the economy is fucked. things are expensive.
now project forward for this demographic: as agentic ai becomes more capable and new innovations arise (swarms?), will they be more or less employable?
a college educated student with no experience cannot compare to Sol or Fable - which gets a week worth of work done in an hour. with feedback and iterations fixed in minutes.
the market for ride sharing is not going to grow exponentially just because ride prices go down
because the bottleneck isn’t getting around town. they already split ubers. the difference is a few dollars
the real bear case for cybercab is that the market is no where near large enough to deploy millions of cars
not to mention, the optics are terrible
a flashy gold car - that puts humans out of a job and destroying a core category of gig work that allows working people to earn supplemental income in times of need
the convergence of timelines just doesn’t work imo
not until they somehow figure out the ai vs employment issue for the youth

Consistent with prior, more partial indicators of the US labor market, the October Jobs Report came in very strong, across the board:
• Nonfarm Payrolls: +165,000 (with net upward revisions of +84,000 for the prior two months) • Unemployment Rate: 4.1% (below the consensus expectation of an unchanged 4.2%)
• Average Hourly Earnings: +0.4% MoM (hotter than the 0.3% expected)
• Labor Force Participation: Edged higher to 61.9% (expectations were for no change at 61.8%).

My view on $AAOI tonight:
The stock is getting punished for a short-term capacity miss. Don’t be shortsighted please!
This is a 2026 issue, not a 2027 issue.
Q3 was very strong: $270M revenue, beat, GAAP profitability, and clear operating leverage (non-GAAP NI $5.5M → $14.8M).
Q4 guide implies another big step up in profits.
The market is treating the $385-420M guide as a demand problem? It’s obviously not.
Management said customers haven’t changed plans and still can’t get product fast enough.
Demand is rotating hard into 1.6T. The constraint is SUPPLY, and it’s TEMPORARY.
What matters IMO:
> First 1.6T product qualified with a Tier-1.
> New multi-year LTA: ≥10% of that customer’s 1.6T needs, expected $1-1.5B revenue.
> Near-term capacity is delayed (YE26 target cut to >500k/month from ~650k due to power/construction issues in the U.S.)
> But the 2027 target was RAISED: >1 million 800G/1.6T units/month by YE27 (up from ~930k).
Yes, the U.S. build is delayed. That’s real execution risk for the next couple of quarters. Capex stays heavy.
But if your view is only the next quarter, you’re going to miss the setup.
The capacity miss is short-term. A year from now the picture is stronger, not weaker.
In this cycle the best entries have usually been when the bottleneck was capacity, not demand.
That’s the situation here.
We remain long and bullish $AAOI.
