AJ Dybantsa is one of the most gifted drivers & transition scorers in NBA history. The explosiveness, the change in pace, the balance & the footwork is all ridiculous at 6'9". He's already leading the NBA in transition PPG & shooting 59% on all 2Pers with a strong FTR. Freak.

The impact @NextGenStats has on a broadcast
The #Bears have allowed just 2.3 yards per play when Jeffery Simmons has been on the field tonight, per the ESPN broadcast.
Difference maker.

An elite offense meets an elite defense for a historic season opener ⚖️!
Purdue finished No. 2 nationally in offensive efficiency last season, while Gonzaga ranked No. 1 in defensive efficiency.
It’s the first time this century teams coming off top-two finishes in those respective categories meet to start the season.

Re: the usage (or lack thereof) of advanced analytics for broadcasts
@lindsay_rhodes and I discussed this on the @SumerSports Show last night, but the most baffling thing about NOT using analytics or publicly bashing the analytics as a "villian" is that, in terms of the storytelling of a game, analytics are bascially a storytelling device.
Some of the oldest stories on earth are basically "X has to find Y" or "X is running out of time"
Analytics can help crystallize that to almost turn it into a "Mission Impossible" type story.
I've loved what @schwartzsteins and the PrimeVision crew have done this year by really highlighting the number of possessions and the expected time the trailing team will get the ball back.
It adds tension and intrigue to the game! Each play becomes a race against the clock.
I don't understand why people don't see it this way more, within the broadcasting community.

The Brewers are the smallest market team in Major League Baseball.
They led the league in wins with a franchise record 103, and swept the Dodgers in the NLCS—with 1/3 the payroll.
Now, they've won their first World Series in franchise history.
