“the same principles that oblige us to submit to civil government, do also equally oblige us, where we have power and ability, to resist and oppose tyranny; and that where tyranny begins, government ends.” The Rev. Samuel West, Massachusetts #ElectionSermon, May 29th, 1776.

The law, as a covenant of works and a rule of life, demands nothing of sinners but what is offered and promised in the gospel; and in the gospel everything freely promised and offered to them is that which the law, in any of its forms, requires. John Colquhoun

How The SBC Got Played An unlicensed investigation, a lawyer editing a report about her own client, and $13 million in tithes later, the largest conservative Protestant denomination in America learned what happens when men fear the mob more than they fear God. Special thanks to @megbasham and @RodDMartin for their contribution to this project.🫡

The Psalms form us as human beings. When we sing them, they become not merely private prayers or emotional poetry, but the Church’s liturgical script for learning how to speak to God faithfully over time. They train us to rejoice, lament, repent, accuse, hope, and praise in covenantal rhythm, shaping not only what we say to God but who we become before Him. By praying the Psalms, believers are formed into a people who learn patience in suffering, confidence in God’s justice, and joy in His kingship.

An essential duty of biblical preaching is making absolutely certain the saints understand the magnitude of the Father's love for them. So often we come to God expecting to be hit over the head with a rod—only to find an overflowing cup of mercy in his hand, extended to us.

Christian, justification means you can come to God boldly today, with total honesty about your failures, your struggles, and your mess.

Donald Trump is asking you to offer babies as a human sacrifice so he can win the election. It’s as simple as that. It’s as evil as that.

Church planter,God grows His church. Not ur strategies. & not ur strategy of having no strategies except the strategy u promote while pretending it’s not a strategy. Be faithful. Preach the Word. Love Jesus’ sheep.&Entrust the rest to him. We don’t need gurus. We need men of God.

Opposing abortions "with exceptions" is a morally incoherent position. Either the child in the womb is a human being and abortion is murder, or not. If not, there is no reason to oppose abortion at all. But if so, it is insane to support murdering a child under any circumstance.

At the hospital. My first baby is about to have her first baby in the season that we celebrate the astounding reality that our King became a baby for us all. Welcome Basia. All glory be to Christ.
