Huge honour - as always - to join the Governor-General and others yesterday in laying a wreath and paying respects at #PNG’s National Remembrance Day. Lest we forget.

I hope that is some of #PNG’s world class speciality coffee (supported by the UK Trade Partnership Programme) that Minister Maru is handing over…

Earlier this year, Foreign Secretary @JamesCleverly saw first-hand how Pacific islands are responding to the threat of climate change.
Today he hosted Leaders of Small Island Developing States on the eve of the #Coronation and called for urgent action to protect them from disaster.
Port Moresby’s Bomana Commonwealth War Cemetery - with almost 4,000 graves - was a moving and poignant setting for #AnzacDay2023 in #PNG, especially as the mist lifted and last post played. An honour and a privilege as always to be able to pay my respects here. #LestWeForget

Not the traditional festive decorations at Moresby House today. Anyone might think there’s a big match on later… Best of luck from #PNG to @England in the #FIFAWorldCup quarter final vs France!
I can think of few more peaceful and special places to mark #RemembranceDay than the Commonwealth War Cemetery at Bomana, Port Moresby, #PNG. Thanks to the Returned and Services League for another beautiful and poignant service. #LestWeForget
