🚨 NEW: The Government's "Black Sky" contingency plans for a national water or power blackout
- Around 100 BBC staff would be deployed to run an emergency RM radio studio stocked with enough food, water and fuel to keep it running for 3 days
- The BBC would broadcast pre-written Government scripts through the studio, including how to ration water, what to do if toilets stop working and which food to eat first (see scripts below)
- Radio masts would switch to diesel generators to keep broadcasts going for up to 72 hours without electricity
- BBC teams would use satellite phones to stay in contact, with agreed meeting points and backup arrangements if those phones stop working
- They would also report from emergency centres across the UK using satellite-equipped BBC vehicles to help keep information flowing to the public
- Emergency services would have alternative ways to communicate if mobile phone networks stopped working
- The Government is putting £70m towards aircraft that could restore mobile phone and internet coverage across the UK for over a week

Dear Lord. Give us our daily bread - without synthetic Folic acid please.
Anyone who wants to know why Synthetic Folic Acid is harmful needs to read this article.
This is being mandated into all white flour in the UK in a few weeks. It’s being pushed by exactly the same health experts who hi told us ( and still maintain) the untested Covid Gene Therapies were ‘safe and effective’.

Slavery was an evil in which people from every continent and region participated. We should be honest about the whole history, not select the parts that are politically convenient today, especially given Britain's leading role in ending the transatlantic slave trade.
If Caribbean countries are asking Britain for a formal apology for Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, will they also be asking the same of the descendants of African kingdoms, rulers and merchants who captured, sold and profited from the trade?
On demands for reparations, whether through cash or debt relief, we have been down this track before. Twenty-five years ago, Jubilee 2000, Drop the Debt and Make Poverty History argued that cancelling the debts of poorer countries would give them a fresh start. More than $100 billion of debt was eventually written off, but many of those countries have since built up even bigger debts. Labour are already spending too much on Britain's welfare state, now is not the time for Andy Burnham to be providing global welfare.
There is no reason British taxpayers today should be held financially responsible for things that happened generations before any of us were born. And I have even less patience for political elites in commonwealth countries who don’t know how to make their own citizens prosperous now looking for another opportunity to blame Britain.
As Prime Minister, Andy Burnham should be Britain’s greatest defender. Instead, he is writing articles saying we need to confront our history (as if we haven't done enough of that) and considering another formal historical apology. Tony Blair already expressed Britain’s deep sorrow and regret for our role in the slave trade nearly twenty years ago. There is no need to do so again.
This is all another navel-gazing distraction. The Commonwealth should be looking forward, not endlessly backwards. That means economic partnerships to make us all richer and deeper military and security cooperation against common threats. If every Commonwealth summit becomes an exercise in presenting Britain with demands for cash then we need to start asking if it is worth the effort.

My Remembrance pieces for this year are finally finished and on display in Northamptonshire.
The dress is wearing my father's RAF veteran pin in his memory.

A beautiful Remembrance tribute has appeared at Shoebury railway station, featuring more than 500 handmade poppies.
Local couple Rhona and Martin Rivers spent NINE HOURS installing the display, following countless evenings of knitting and preparation.

As the Poppy Appeal begins and Remembrance Sunday approaches, millions of people will wear a red poppy to honour those who served, suffered and sacrificed their lives in war.
But there is another poppy that carries an equally moving message — the purple poppy. 💜🐴
While the red poppy remembers the human lives lost in conflict, the purple poppy honours the millions of animals who served alongside them.
Horses, mules, donkeys, dogs, pigeons and countless other animals were drawn into wars they could never understand.
During the First World War, horses carried soldiers into battle, pulled heavy artillery through deep mud, transported desperately needed supplies and helped evacuate the wounded.
They endured freezing temperatures, hunger, exhaustion, terrifying explosions and injuries from which many would never recover.
More than eight million horses, mules and donkeys died during the First World War, a staggering reminder of the suffering endured by animals caught up in human conflict.
They didn't understand why they were there.
They didn't know what the fighting was about.
They simply trusted the people who cared for them and continued doing what was asked of them, often until they could go no further.
The purple poppy was introduced to ensure their sacrifice would never be forgotten.
It is not intended to replace the traditional red poppy, but to stand alongside it, recognising that animals also paid an enormous price.
The Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal continues to support the Armed Forces community, while the purple poppy is promoted by animal remembrance organisations and supporters.
This November, whether you wear red, purple or both, take a moment to remember the animals who had no choice, no voice and no understanding of the wars into which they were sent.
They served without question, suffered without understanding and gave their lives without ever knowing why.
We will remember them. ❤️💜
