Most small businesses fail the military-grade test quietly: could you lose your biggest lead source for a month and keep operating? One referral partner, one ad channel, one person who knows how everything works. None of those are problems until the day they are.

I do intermittent fasting. It simplifies dieting, and I get more energy and focus through the day. The cost: some nights the hunger makes it harder to sleep.

A CEO said working from home with kids is impossible. It's hard. It isn't impossible. I build a business with a kid at home. I stopped planning whole days and started defending the uninterrupted stretches I actually get.

Most people shopping for a new note-taking app don't have a tool problem. They have an input problem. Feeds don't produce notes. They're built to be scrolled and forgotten. Books are long enough that you have to do something with them.

A mentor told me starting a business is easy and running one is hard. I understood the sentence long before I understood it. Starting is a decision plus paperwork. Running is the year the thing that worked stops working, and nobody sends a notice.

LinkedIn has games. Is this a tipping point?

Owners who say their ads don't work usually have a site that can't close. The tell: cost per lead gets worse the more you spend. That isn't a bidding problem. My Lead Engine Audit checks both halves: moricomedia.com/lead-engine-…

iPhone 17 Pro Max and an M4 iPad Pro. Still not enough screen. Still waiting on an iPhone Duo Max.

For New Haven-style pizza at home, a gas oven beats electric. Mine runs at its max, 500°F, over a stone several inches thick, preheated about 40 minutes. San Marzano sauce does the rest. Full method: kenmorico.com/blog/new-haven…

"Get dressed like you're going to the office" is standard work-from-home advice. I ignore it. I work in athleisure on purpose. Nothing pinches, nothing needs adjusting, and I can head out for a walk mid-afternoon without changing.

Automating a task that shouldn't exist doesn't save the time. It makes the task permanent. In twenty years of software, the expensive code was rarely the broken code. It was the dead code. monkwealthforge.substack.com…

AirPods Pro 2 for the day. Wired V-MODA earbuds when I sit down to code. Louder, and better bass.

Most productivity apps make you less productive. Each one ships with an inbox, a badge, and another reason to check it. My best focus tools: a calendar, a sidewalk, and a book.

"Build your audience on X" skips the part where X owns the audience. Post here, sure. But anyone who likes what you write should end up somewhere you control. For me that's a newsletter and my own site.

Current desk: M4 Mac mini, Studio Display, Magic Keyboard with the number pad, Magic Trackpad. And two mice. Black Magic Mouse and MX Master 3. I wrote the comparison years ago. Both are still here.

SEO isn't dead. The checklist version of it is. My site survived Google's Helpful Content Update because it was built for the person searching, not the ranking system. AI search is running the same test again.

If your phone sleeps on the nightstand, someone else's feed decides how your day starts and ends. Mine charges in another room.

You don't age out of tech. Your skills do, and only if you stop updating them. I've built for the web for 20+ years. Most of what I first learned is obsolete. The habit of learning the next thing before it's required isn't. Right now that's AI.

Every app I open has an opinion about my attention. My RSS reader is the exception. No ranking, no suggestions, nothing inserted. Just the list of things I asked for.

Bitcoin isn't a long-term hold for me. I trade index ETFs and the big metals ETFs like GLD. The filter is one question: would I want to own this for a very long time? Time-tested assets pass. Bitcoin doesn't.
