“I don’t give a fuck about Stirling.”
He swung the pistol over and Sam chopped down on his forearm. He yelled and dropped the gun. The goon hit the floor on all fours but he was too slow. Thom scooped it up. The gun was now pointed at his forehead.
“You ever fire one?”
“Lots of times. Look, I’ll even take the safety off.”
The goon grunted.
“Guess you missed that one. What bargain basement shop did they hire you from?”

You sculpt a literary story, carve out a horror story, chip away at a mystery, bang out an action story, fashion a romance. How do you write a comedy?

Check out the story behind the @NathanBorn2010 story in @litgarage01
There's something fitting about ending SIDE B with @NathanBorn2010 's.” It brings the series full circle to what Zevon did so well: finding the absurdity, dark humor & danger in people whose worlds are coming apart.

It depends on the work in question, honestly. Certain genres call for a specific voice that only certain fonts can achieve. For Craig’s Luke Fischer novels, I use Electra because it has a crisp feel to it that feels reminiscent to the crime novels his work reminds me of. For a novel that might fall into the realm of historical fiction, I’d use Hoefler for its antiquated look to make the novel feel it’s from the time period it’s emulating. Literary works? I’d use Janson or something similar for a clean look that silently asks you to take your time with the novel and to leave no stone unturned as you read the novel on a sentence-to-sentence level.

Book 2 in the series of Nakiri's Last Stand. Fast-paced action that slows down in just the right places to let you catch your breath and take it all in. Excellent storytelling!
I've read all of @BHolshouserUS's work, and he always delivers!🤌

I know I said was done promoting on here, and I mostly am.
But I’ve been working with a cool company, and I wanted to mention… quietly… that Fall in One Day will be coming out in audio.
So if anything, I’ll have something to listen to on the way to work.
