Sometimes, when someone wins their first F1 world championship, I think about this conversation between Ayrton Senna and Nigel Mansell at the end of the 1992 season (from Mansell's autobiography a couple of years later).
'Now you know why I'm such a bastard'
Very gracious, Lando.
Lando Norris: "It’s just good to see isn’t it? You can’t not help but want to watch this kind of thing. Of course, because of last year, the emotions are insanely high and you feel on top of the world, as I’m sure he does right now.
"But it couldn’t have gone to a better person in terms of - he is a genuine guy, he’s very, very kind. And he has driven just unbelievably well this year, I think better than everyone was probably expecting of him.
"He’s certainly not had an easy season in terms of - competition has been incredibly high, he has gone up against the best drivers in the world, all in very good cars and he’s easily beaten everyone.
"He should be very proud, he’s achieved history today so I am very happy for him."

One of my favorites photos I’ve taken in awhile. Yesterday had some crazy conditions in Boulder, with the clouds and fog swirling in and out of the valley. Two climbers on the summit of the 3rd flatiron, with one en route, climbing College Dropout. What a day! #cowx

A lovely moment in the presser:
Kimi Antonelli has been overwhelmed by emotion, recounting how Nessum Dorma was a song his grandfather loved, and is crying - to the applause of everyone in the room.
"I cry way too much today!" he laughs about it.

We have a 20 year old F1 World Champion - that is something quite incredible.
But the warmth of the guy, his natural empathy for the people he works with and around, is something truly spectacular. Alongside tremendous talent.
Kimi will have the team, paddock and fanbase celebrate with him. immense.

🥹❤️ Marco Antonelli on his role in Kimi’s journey:
“I haven’t done anything special, just what a father should do with his son and his family.”
And when asked where Kimi’s talent comes from:
“The talent comes from his mother, not from me.” 😂❤️
A proud father watching his son make Formula 1 history. 🏆

Here it comes.
Over the next several hours, showers and a few thunderstorms will try to move off the mountains into the foothills and along the I-25 corridor. They’ll be hit or miss, moving northeast through the late afternoon and evening.
As those showers move onto the eastern plains, our approaching storm will pull a wedge of drier air into the region from the southwest. That’s the dry slot, and it’ll give us a temporary break in the action.
Then comes Monday. Behind the cold front, moisture will wrap around the low pressure center and move back in from the north and northwest. The deformation zone, where the storm stretches and concentrates that moisture into a band of precipitation, will also come into play.
I told you this sucker was complicated. 😂 I’m watching all these moving parts and will keep you updated as they come together.
Kthxbye
