This is pissing me off - I'm going to start unfollowing streamers who make a habit of not raiding. (ie: watched several streams and no raid is definitely 100%) Why support you when you don't want to support the ecosystem you live in?

Yes, because of vibe-coding there's now a new influx of shovelware on Steam (on top of the stuff that got an open door in the last few years). Wanting to nuke the platform because of that isn't the answer, you black-pilled dunces. Curate your games, you feed will thank you.

If Steam keeps suggesting shovelware to you, it's because you're doing the clicks that encourage it to do so. As for the rest, you can bet that Steam is already looking into it. They don't want to be known as the software dump of the world.

🔍 Example happening right now. Witchspire started a new campaign with badge rewards only about 80 mins ago. - 76 streams are live - 36 of them are badge farming streams twitch.tv/directory/category…
Vaultbreakers ended its Badge campaign on Twitch because of Badge Farming channels. 75% of the most-watched Vaultbreaker channels are Badge Farm channels. This occurs on practically every Drops campaign on the platform - they don't reward creators.

I'd rather reward viewership and stats to an actual human live streamer / content creator than a farm. That's the point.

With the calls from some people to encourage piracy as protest against the industry by using AI to reverse-engineer games, this is a real legitimate concern that studios have to deal with now. You can't expect people to distinguish AAA studios and indies once they figure out how to do this, and everyone will suffer - in a times where practically everyone in the industry is suffering. eurogamer.net/moonlighter-de…

🧛‍♂️ I know the headline says remake, but it's apparently a remaster.

I'm out here taking reaaaaaally good care of my PC and phone over here.
A hardware market freeze could transform the industry forever, says Rob Fahey. If consoles and GPUs are priced out of reach for years, the market won't simply wait for them to come back – it'll re-centre around the devices people already have. bit.ly/3UuSZfS

Twitch has started taking action against some Badge Farm channels, issuing temporary suspensions to some and warnings to others. A good start for the platform, which hopefully translates into consistent enforcement.

It's worse than I thought... 85% of the Top 20. 70% of the Top 100. Badge-farming channels are taking away discovery and earnings from legitimate creators.

Time for a new crackdown on 24/7 AFK streams on Twitch.

Why disgruntled players stay in a gaming community. An article I wrote about the rationale of maintaining cynicism in response after response, where just leaving would seem to be more rational. tobiassolem.se/php/showpost.…

If you're considering playing WoW Forever, with the trends I'm seeing, even though it launches on Nov. 4th, it's best to aim for Nov. 11th instead. Save yourself a lot of stress and hassles. Launch issues, quest bottlenecks, potential DDoS, bugs, hotfixes, etc... Wait a week.

No but seriously, if you like horror and you haven't seen the first 2 Hellraiser movies, now is the best time to get into it.
