🧵 On this day… sitting in a waiting room unable to help my son…..
I decided to question everything I “knew” about baseball
This day Changed my life
And as it turns out- 10 years later- it changed the course of baseball AND softball in Western PA - forever
This is what young people need to hear.
Only one person to blame for a where we are where we are ….and that is us
I also love the message re: not caring about results and focusing on just competing as hard as you can
NLCS MVP Jake Bauers shares how letting go of results helped him find a different level of freedom as a competitor.
"I think what changed for me this year was I stopped caring about results. I started caring about competing. I started caring about being in the moment and getting out of my own way."
Sometimes, the biggest obstacle to performing at your best isn't a lack of preparation or ability.
It's the pressure you place on yourself to produce a particular outcome.
You become so concerned with what you want to happen that you lose touch with what the moment actually requires.
Any performer can unlock a new level when they learn how to be fully invested in the competition without becoming imprisoned by the outcome.

We don’t officially kick off until next Monday but you wouldn’t know it by how the WPIAL Men brought the energy today. 20+ KPIs learned & Some fire 🔥 from the Young Bucks. @TGarbs3 would be proud!!!
🎶 In honor of Legendary Pittsburgh Rocker @donnieiris who passed away today 😔
RIP To Pittsburgh’s King Cool
We interrupt the World Series to bring you Charlotte’s first attempt at her speech for Monday morning
I think she nailed it 👏 👏 👏 😢
So we were able to get this one to move a bit better …. and she did great!!!!
Before & After the “behind the scenes” posted earlier
It’s alot of fun being able to help these young kids feel better when they throw
“Pick it up” is a moniker I came home with from Ball State
Proud of my boy living those words every day
That program is making moves everyday for those girls and it’s inspiring
Huge thank you to @BallStateBB @CoachMaloney and @AlexMaloney62 for Ol’ Bubba. With an assist from the boys with RL Turner construction and some rehab time and effort, @BallStateSB has a new piece of equipment #everythingmatters #fitfo
Let them find their way
Interject only when you must
Behind the scenes today with a “youngin” about half way through her session. Stuck on a Gallo Flow concept.
So we “worked the sticking point”
Batting averages are down because pitchers are better.
But
Also
These dudes fly in the outfield and defense is unbelievable all
Over the field
Yikes
Roll Vikes 💪
Central Catholic defense with the sack of the Canon-Mac quarterback in the 2nd quarter. Central Catholic up 42-0 at halftime. #SportsRoundup @SierraExperts @NationalArmory #DeejaysBBQ
🧵 I decided to answer this question / give my opinion
The reality of what it takes to play at that level hits and not everyone wants to do what it takes.
Many players that are good between eight and 12 are largely good because
1/ they physically mature early
And / Or
3/ show up. The kids with much better genetics for the sport find themselves at this time - much like a baby deer learning to walk …..and they pull away. Many kids who have to work for the things that come naturally to others decide there’s other things they’d
