Replying to my own post because I just remembered the most blatant example of what I just said. This really is how I think it should be done imo

I remember Moffat's Doctor (especially under Capaldi) making a few comments here and there relativising monsters' behaviour by comparing about meat consumption (ex below). I think this is the way to go because it's both quick, smart, and reflective (like Moffat at his best)

Stuart Price talked about changing the song early before the release after the reception to a version played at a club preview. Probably means the vinyl got pressed before those changes were made Here goes :
