Life and several future generations just perished like that. We must stop this, enough of the empty promises #COP31
A young student’s future has been devastated by the flooding of River Nyamwamba, just days before his final UCE exam. How many more lives must be affected before climate resilience is treated as a priority?Climate justice must go beyond promises; it means taking action.

Small-scale vendors of Wi-Fi and internet hotspots should not be banned. Instead, UCC could come up with an appropriate licensing framework for them that is not as cumbersome as that of the big players. #KeepingTheGovtInCheck

I might not know much about @WilliamsRuto but this affordable housing project is such a great project. I managed to see it first hand in Kisumu this week. The only bing problem is the selection of who benefits. Unfortunately,it’s still the rich. Also, make them sustainable/green

Looks like I might never use @UG_Airlines .They charge twice the price of their competitors.I don't get their business model, but all I can say is that patriotism isn't enough of a bargaining chip. How can you tell me a one-way to Nairobi is $341.95?That's 1.4m!Let me go elsewhere

Yesterday I traveled from Kampala to Fort Portal but couldn’t help feeling the pain of stepping into Tooro with no King Oyo. Tried to see if the signpost in Kyegegwa still exists.I relived the livestreams I watched of the return & funeral. God,have mercy on his family&friends

Today I had an opportunity to bid Farewell to @antonioguterres the UN Secretary General after completing my tour of duty as Ambassador of Uganda to the UN. I have had a close working relationship and a Father figure who checked on to see if I was doing well. Since 2017 we have worked together on various UN processes, Buenos Aires plan of action on south-south cooperation(BUPA), Pact of the future, Financing for Development(FFD), UN 75, UN80 reforms, UN Budget, support to Entebbe regional service center, reform of the UN Development system, and regional peace and security. He visited Uganda twice during my term. I wished him the best in the remaining three months as one of the most consequential UN Secretary Generals. I never thought anyone in Uganda’s government has any drop of humanity but now I’m hopeful. Not saying his a saint but this is good. In the UK, the PM is answerable to the opposition. He faces them for Q&A & accountability. In Uganda, they torture & kill opposition
Remarks by Maj Gen (Rtd) Kahinda Otafiire as he delivered his maiden speech in the 12th Parliament today.

I warmly welcome the inclusion of Ugandan passport holders in South Africa’s Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) system. This is a positive development for our people and a further reflection of the warm and cordial bilateral relations between Uganda and South Africa. It will facilitate greater movement and interaction between our two countries, while supporting tourism, business, trade, investment and people-to-people ties.
🇺🇬🇿🇦 We welcome the introduction of South Africa’s Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) for Ugandan passport holders. Ugandan travellers can apply through the official South African eTA portal: eta.dha.gov.za CC: @adoniaayebare @kasujja @AmoruPaul @ObothOboth
