Personally, how they handle Percabeth S3 will determine if I should continue this series. I've been in too many female black lead fandoms & it's a recurring trend of dodging the romance with no *great* pay off. I'm frankly sick of it, and I do not intend to go through it again.

I'm hoping S3 is better because again she is going to be captured &harmed this season. But if it happens again that there is no scene of percy actually comforting her *properly* unlike S2, it tells me she's simply being reduced to a plot device to make Percy heroic and look good.

Somehow the justification for them not having those moments in S2 is that there was never any "time". Yet somehow time was written in for percy to have multiple hugs with male figures. You can't be a Leah fan & be patient with this type of writing. You would call the writers out.

What I find interesting about all the Chloe criticism (whether valid or hateful) is that there’s a subtext of the criticism which is a really strong desire to want to like her music and be a fan. That subtext has been persistent now for years and I haven’t seen anything like it.
