Unless there are stats or a broadcast, I don't know that they're doing anything inconsistent here. They've always tried to get people to attend. – at Lakewood, OH

.@KyleHZRT In the past, the exhibition game for CSU had always been treated as kind of secret with no stats or broadcast. Interesting that this year, CSU is marketing it and doing a poster giveaway and dollar hot dogs

For what it's worth, Penn State plays an exhibition tonight. It will be streamed on B1G+, which costs $12.99/month... but the thing is, CSU's visit to Happy Valley on Monday is also on B1G+. So if you were going to eat the $12.99 then, there's no real difference if you do it now. – at Brooklyn, OH

Started looking at flight and hotels for Arizona today. Then I started to second guess if it was worth it. That’s a real bummer, but the truth.

It's one of those things where I think schools could stand to be a bit more direct and not either a) try to keep superficially bad news a secret or b) run it through SpinGPT. If you present your cuts that way, I think most fans would shrug and say "yeah, makes sense."

There's certainly a case for saying "we should play the long game and not slash every fan outreach/marketing effort." I can't speak to Oakland's situation, but here at CSU, it feels like squeezing blood from a rock to be honest. The market flat-out doesn't care about the school. – at Brooklyn, OH

Sort of echoes what Jim Sarow said on our podcast yesterday - do you want a superfluous radio broadcast that, let's be honest, has a tiny audience anyway, or do you want a little extra pocket change to maybe win a recruiting battle next year?

Of note, given that CSU plays both Mercyhurst and Chicago State this year. The Lakers are always trap material, they gave both YSU and RMU extremely tough games last year.

Chris Kielsmeier once said to me that there's no place like your undergraduate alma mater. I'm not entirely sure how he meant that, but that place has been right in the middle for an awful lot of my life, mostly good and occasionally bad. – at Brooklyn, OH

Laura Tapia and Anna McKnight (near side, with Tapia doing all of the hitting) had to come from behind in their final doubles match of the day, but they edged out Mercyhurst's Daria Rogova and Variance Horn-Bourgue, 7-5. CSU really does have a great team here, it appears.
