You are absolutely right that is why I took a job coaching in the public school area to help bring those days back. You don’t need to private schools to succeed
Why do parents think that because your on a EYBL or UAA or Adidas team that the coaching is better. If that was the case why do those teams get beat by non circuit teams. Not every player on those teams get scholarships. If you have talent college coaches will find you. Stay home

This something all parents and kids need to hear. The name on the jersey doesn’t make you a better player or give you and advantage. It’s what is the perfect fit for you. Whether it’s travel or college. If you can play you will be seen. Get the reps.

It’s a Shame when Circuit Teams are in the AAU Portal trying to persuade players to come over. I thought those teams were ready made @695HOOPS
I watched a lot of basketball this weekend. I seen kids on Teams not playing or playing a position that is not suited for there style of play. Kids being in the game to long, then looking horrible in the end because of fatigue. The Travel Basketball portal is definitely open.
