An elderly Florida woman had just finished her grocery shopping when she returned to the parking lot—and to her surprise, found four young men inside her car, apparently about to drive off. Without hesitation, she dropped her bags, pulled a handgun from her purse, and shouted, “I have a gun, and I know how to use it! Get out of the car!” The startled men didn’t wait for a second warning—they bolted from the vehicle and ran like their lives depended on it. Still shaking from the adrenaline, the woman gathered her groceries, loaded them into the car, and got into the driver’s seat. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t get the key into the ignition. Puzzled, she looked around the interior… and noticed something odd: a football in the passenger seat, a Frisbee on the floor, and two cases of beer in the back. Slowly, it dawned on her. She was in the wrong car. Sure enough, her identical vehicle was parked just a few spaces away. Embarrassed but amused, she moved her bags to her actual car and drove straight to the police station to report the mix-up. When she finished her story, the desk sergeant burst into laughter. Then he gestured to the other side of the room—where four very pale young men were nervously describing how they’d been carjacked by a “crazy old lady with curly white hair, glasses, under five feet tall, and packing heat.” No charges were filed.

The lady at the charity shop today told me that she wishes people would clear out their children's old toys in the lead up to Christmas rather than after because she always sees a number of parents in the days before Christmas looking for toys for their little ones who might be strapped for cash. She said there's very rarely anything in just before, but that they get inundated with toys in the days after. And it really made me think about it in a way I never would have before. If you know your child is going to get lots of presents from Father Christmas this year, by clearing out your cupboards a few days early, you could make another child's Christmas a lot more special too. Saw this & thought I'd repost.

Reports Govt may partially U-turn on the Winter Fuel Payment cut by raising the effective eligibility threshold from £11,500. That'd be welcome but still doesn't fix the worst underlying problem... the means testing mechanism (ie to get it you must claim Pension Credit) is flawed. Around 700,000 of the most vulnerable pensioners, already earning under £11,500, don't get Winter Fuel Payments because they don't go through the overly arduous process of claiming Pension Credit. Thus they miss out in both the important support that brings and on Winter Fuel Payments. That needs to change. None of this is new. Many of us have been shouting it until we're blue in the face. If a fix is to come, let it be a proper one, not just an electoral sticking plaster.

#PrinceHarry Can take his family to any royal residence/ palace in the UK & he will be V safe as they are all guarded. What he wants is for Meghan to flounce over to the UK on a whim & stay with "friends" and get free protection. Harry&Meghan are deluded. Stay in the "safe" US 🙄
