We face huge challenges in our justice system - from prison capacity to unprecedented court backlogs.
Harnessing Artificial Intelligence will be at the heart of solutions to each.
Thatās why I was pleased to have been appointed by the Lord Chancellor as Technology lead at the @MoJGovUK to turbocharge the transformation of our justice system.
A few early thoughts on how this can help in family disputes in the @thetimes š

Victims of rape and serious sexual offences deserve better support through the criminal justice system.
The funding we are announcing today will provide specialist courtrooms that are designed with victim needs in mind.

During the debate on the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill last week I wrongly misinterpreted what @kimleadbeater said in response @zubirahmed's intervention. I thought Ms Leadbeater had accused Dr Ahmed of "making it up" and lying, and posted a message accusing her of saying that. I was wrong: what Ms Leadbeater was overheard asking was a rhetorical question, "Are people making it up?"
When I realised my mistake, I deleted my original post, but it had already gone viral. It was a genuine mistake, but I'm sorry about its consequences.
@kimleadbeater and I undoubtedly have strong differences of opinion on the merits of legalising assisted suicide. I thought her Bill, re-presented to the Commons by Lauren Edwards, was dangerous and wrong. I still think that. But she is a diligent and well-meaning MP, and I have no animus against her personally. I have no doubt that she acted with the best of intentions.
It's important that public debate is conducted in a generous, honest spirit, even when the stakes are high. I offer a wholehearted apology, and am glad to correct the record here.
As a (long suffering but willing) Everton fan Iāll take your empty promise!

We are accelerating funding to turbocharge prison building across the country.
The cash will go towards speeding up the largest prison building programme since the Victorian era.

The shocking sexual and physical abuse of thousands of boys at Medomsley is a national scandal.
For too long. working class boys who were victim of the most heinous crimes have been overlooked by those in power - with some notable exceptions.
We cannot let that happen again.
This government rightly apologised for historic failings, but did not stop there.
Today, we have accepted all 34 recommendations of the Trowler review I commissioned to ensure that these horrific crimes will never happen again and @DavidLammy and I will also be meeting with survivors.
Never again.

We're in the middle of the largest prison expansion since the Victorian Era.
3,100 additional places in under 2 years - on track to deliver almost 11,000 more by 2031 šÆ.
But we can't simply build our way out of this crisis.
We have 2 choices:
Strict licence conditions in the community after serving time in prison under our reforms.
Or the collapse of the system.
My statement in the House of Commons today š¹ā¬ļø.

The Labour government is committed to fixing the broken asylum system we inherited.
That is crystal clear - under Keir Starmerās leadership, and under Andy Burnhamās from next month.
Because it is about Labour values: fairness, security and contribution.
We are closing hotels, reducing boat crossings, tackling the asylum backlog, and deporting those who should not be here.

The government is determined to bring down the Crown Court backlog.
It simply cannot be right that victims can be waiting 5 years for their day in court.
Justice delayed is justice denied.
The modernisation package brought forward by @sarahsackman and @DavidLammy, alongside record investment, will begin to turn the tide on a decade of neglect under the Tories.

We inherited a broken prison system.
The country was days away from running out of places, which would mean the collapse of law and order across the country.
We are building - 14,000 new prison places, the largest programme since the Victorian era.
There will be more criminals behind bars than ever before by the end of the Parliament.
But without further sentencing changes, weād still end up facing the same crisis again next year.
We will never do that to the British people.

Restorative justice reduces reoffending and can offer victims the answers they seek.
Thatās why I have appointed @JacobFreeeman as an expert adviser on youth justice here at the @MoJGovUK š
Jacobās story of restorative justice is shown across the country in āPunchā - a play by @mrJamesGraham about Jacobās childhood, his crime, and the journey he, and his victimās family took. From the West End to Broadway, Jacobās experience
It is about poverty, rehabilitation, crime, masculinity, and, ultimately, redemption - and the opportunity to turn around lives, and contribute to society.
Policy from Whitehall must be informed by lived experience. So pleased Jacob is on board, ready to help us transform the youth justice system.

Repugnant, dangerous and bonkers.
Reformās latest policy is morally questionable, and all the evidence suggests it would lead to far more crime.
It would also cost > Ā£100 billion in capital spend, and an annual increase in spending of Ā£59 billion. š¤Ŗ
"I don't care if you shoplift a sandwich - if you break the law, commit a crime, you go to prison."
@SarahForRuncorn says if she has the Justice brief in Government, she would be building prisons to sort out crime.

As the MP for Amber Valley where @denbypottery is based, I wholeheartedly agree with this, although Iād say the price is value for money given the excellent quality. Especially if people visit the pottery village where many a bargain can be found. šš»šš»
Iād recommend @denbypottery - all made in Amber Valley, Derbyshire. Great quality, beautiful designs and the Denby Pottery village is a fantastic place to visit, (with an on-site pottery museum to boot). #BuyBritish #Denby #AmberValley
And now Iām here in John Lewis. Am I the only person who wants to buy a nice bowl or a lovely plate thatās made in Britain and not in China? Sophie Conran, PortMeirion is beautiful and sounds British but made in China. Rick Stein Treyarnon Bay, Cornwall. Sounds Cornish but made in China. Almost everything I have picked up here is made in China. Iāll happily pay more for British made, in what I thought was a British shop, but it seems to be impossible.
