You think it’s helping but it actually tightens up the work and people can feel it. Originality thats hunted usually tends to feel performed. What actually lands as “original” is often simpler , and simultaneously harder to achieve. You tell the truth you actually feel inside of you. You follow the strange specific things that only you notice. You let your taste , your wounds , your way of seeing the world stay in the art , the music or whatever it is instead of sanding them toward something smooth & safe. The originality arrives as a side effect of honesty , not as the goal. Most of what feels new is just someone finally willing to sound like themselves. You don’t need a brand new original idea. You need the courage to stop decorating the one that is already yours. Make it true. Let “original” take care of itself.
