We had the honor of presenting Florida Panthers captain, Stanley Cup champion, and longtime Boca Raton resident Sasha Barkov with a Key to the City! 🗝️🏒 The Key to the City is one of Boca Raton’s highest honors, recognizing individuals who have made a meaningful impact on our community. Beyond his accomplishments on the ice, Sasha has made Boca Raton his home, and we’re proud to celebrate him as part of our community. Hockey has a special place here in Boca, and Gabriela, a local fifth grader, captured that perfectly in her Ode to Boca: 3 Kids playing sports 3 almost every day 4 A toddler screaming “snacks” 8 Two retired pro hockey players walking matching labradoodles 6 Me shooting hoops in my driveway And as Sasha shared during the celebration, Boca Raton is “a great place to live, a great place to stay, and a great place to play hockey.” We couldn’t agree more! A special thank you to @ice_boca for hosting such a memorable celebration, the @FlaPanthers for their support, and everyone who helped make the day so special, especially the young hockey players who joined us! Congratulations, Sasha! Boca Raton is proud to call you one of our own.
